President Trump Awarding Tiger Woods PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM

President Donald Trump was so impressed with Tiger Woods amazing performance at The Masters -- he's giving the golfer the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The Medal is the highest award that can be awarded to a civilian in the United States and has previous recipients include Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Pope John Paul II, Bob Hope and more.

According to the White House, the Medal "recognizes those individuals who have made 'an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.'"

In his announcement (read: tweet), Trump said, "Spoke to @TigerWoods to congratulate him on the great victory he had in yesterday’s @TheMasters, & to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!"

  7. I've had problems with this one. Though I love President Trump, I don't understand someone being given a medal of honor for -- winning a golf game? But, I'm asking myself if maybe it's bigger than that. Kind of going with you, 9:42.

  9. I hate golf but I have somewhat followed Woods. I happen to think the medal is appropriate. He always took responsibility for his actions. He didn't try to blame something or someone else. He admitted to a drug problem and sought help. He could have gone the route of so many other athletes especially black ones but he saw the path he was taking was the wrong one and after seeking help merged back on the right path. Some take this detour and never turn around.

  10. Obama gave them out like Halloween candy(123). Anyone who can bring themselves back from the physical and personal dilemmas that Tiger Woods went thru over the last several years, is well deserving of the Nation's Highest Civilian Honor in my opinion! What the hell did Robert DeNiro or Ellen DeGeneres do to deserve the same honor from Obama?
