Breakout Box Office Hit: Pro-Life Film 'Unplanned' Edges Out 'Captain Marvel' In Key Screening Stat

Despite intense media opposition, an "R" rating from the MPAA, and big tech censorship, pro-life film "Unplanned" is wildly outperforming expectations at the box office.

The biopic — which details Planned Parenthood defector Abby Johnson's dramatic journey from abortion mouthpiece to pro-life crusader — has taken in an estimated $6,110,000 this weekend, expected to become the #5 movie at the box office.

The film was projected to bring in less than half of what it's generated thus far.

  1. So many Americans are rising up against abortion as a birth control option, especially one paid for by tax dollars, it's no wonder that this movie is hitting home.

  2. Democrats over-played their hand with this. They went full eugenics and people are repulsed.

  3. Do you know what eugenics means?

    1. Eugenics is a set of beliefs and practices that aim to improve the genetic quality of a human population by excluding (through a variety of morally criticized means) certain genetic groups judged to be inferior, and promoting other genetic groups judged to be superior. For example, abortion on demand. You're welcome.

    2. If you don't think they're related, Google Margaret Sanger (planned parenthood founder) and eugenics. She was a racist, too. Then look at abortion rates among minorities. Things that make you go hmmmmm...

  4. Abortion is not a birth control option, although factions of modern US society have worked tireless to desensitize us to the cruel facts and ligitimize it. So glad people are standing up to turn the tide.

  6. The hysterically laughable spin to make this failure seem like a win. The mental gymnastics and skew and spin... can anyone actually use critical thinking any more?

Captain Marvel came our MARCH 8TH. Why is this film being compared to it on it's opening weekend? Captain Marvel made $153+ million on it's opening weekend, Unplanned made 6 million. That's a 147 million dollar difference.

The article reported a user rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a metric that is NEVER used. The critical rating is what matters... and Rotten Tomatoes reviewed this film as 50% ROTTEN. As in, as a MOVIE, it is not good... the subject matter is irrelevant to it's quality as a film.. it's a BAD movie. Dumbo, which got a 49% on Rotten Tomatoes, a film that is technically worse than Unplanned brought in 45 million.

This film has a built in confirmation bias audience... it's going to get evangelical market who would go to any religious film of this kind anyway... because its a guaranteed market win.

This movie was made for a niche market. It will fade quickly, as all of these terrible movies do. Trying to make it out as this terrible movie is a success, or did something amazing is just false.

  7. 11:15 AM - You probably meant "its", and not "it's".

Well, that "niche market" helped RT to rate the movie at 93% audience popularity vs. 60% for Captain Marvel. The N value of the audience will skew the numbers, but let's see how it pans out in a few weeks.
