Nat'l popular vote legislation passes Delaware Senate

Legislation that would give Delaware’s electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the national popular vote easily passed the state Senate Thursday.

The bill adding the First State to the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact garnered 14 yes votes, with 7 Republicans voting no.

State Sen. Bryan Townsend (D-Newark) is sponsoring the bill. State Sen. Anthony Delcollo (R-Elsmere) is co-sponsoring it.

    Absolutely right - hell in a hand basket. So, does this give big States like NY Calif etc say so in elections. I know we are addressing MD but this new MD law will spread.

    The fact that Delaware is willing to cave to the will the rest of the county proves they are Slower on the uptake than we could have imagined as their neighbors on the shore.

    Natl popular vote would only allow liberals to get their way. Not fair to those states who represent hard-working people who have more common sense than the liberals do.

    Small states jumping on this bandwagon are cutting their throats. Big Blue states will suck them dry and they'll be powerless to restore the balance.
