In His First Day On The Job, Kavanaugh Hired As Many Black Law Clerks As RBG Has In Her Entire Tenure

Justice Brett Kavanaugh has hired a black law clerk for his new chambers at the U.S. Supreme Court, matching Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s record of African-American clerkship hiring during her tenure on the nation’s highest judicial tribunal.

With his first clerkship hires, Kavanaugh also set a gender composition record, an apparent attempt to buck the high court’s hiring patterns, which tend to favor white, male graduates of elite law schools.

Since joining the high court in 1993, Ginsburg has hired over 100 law clerks, just one of whom is black.

Ginsburg’s hiring practices have been criticized for decades. During her 1993 confirmation hearings, GOP Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah asked Ginsburg if a court might reasonably conclude that a small business in a majority black city that hired 57 white employees and zero black employees over a period of years was discriminatory. Ginsburg dodged, before Hatch pointed out that was in fact her own record of clerkship hiring in her 13 years on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

Writer For ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ Regrets Reveling In Brett Kavanaugh’s Suffering

Writer for CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Ariel Dumas, said she regrets reveling in the suffering of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and being glad the media ruined his life.

Dumas originally celebrated the chaos surrounding Kavanaugh on Twitter, but then promptly deleted the tweet.

“Whatever happens, I’m just glad we ruined Brett Kavanaugh’s life,” the deleted tweet read, according the Fox News. Her tweet came as the Senate voted to confirm Kavanaugh by a final tally of 50-48.

Dumas apologized for the tweet Sunday and blamed personal problems and “frustration” for her comments.

Arnold Ahlert: Democrats Don't Embrace the Mob; They Are the Mob

Having convinced themselves that Trump is apocalyptic, they've resorted to rank fascism.

“Go to the Hill today. Get up and please get up in the face of some congresspeople.” —Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), July 28

Like so many of his Democrat colleagues and their supporters, Booker endorses thuggery and intimidation as a legitimate expression of political dissent. And having convinced themselves that President Donald Trump is apocalyptic, they and their equally contemptible media allies have fully embraced an “ends justify the means” approach to politics that is nothing less than rank fascism, masquerading itself as a commitment to “social justice.” One of the newer weapons in their wannabe totalitarian arsenal? Doxxing.

For American who may not be familiar with the term, “doxxing” is about searching for, and publishing, a person’s private information on the Internet, almost invariably with malicious intent. Not content with harassing Republicans and members of the Trump administration — even in restrooms — leftists have taken to publishing the personal information of several Republican senators in the hope that protesters will surround their homes and intimidate not just the senators themselves but members of their family, including children, as well.

Last Tuesday, one of the alleged perpetrators of this tactic was arrested. Jackson Cosko, 27, was caught in the office of Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) by one of her staffers, who called the U.S. Capitol Police. At his arraignment last Thursday, Cosko was charged with making public restricted personal information, witness tampering, threats in interstate communication, unauthorized access of a government computer, identity theft, second-degree burglary and unlawful entry. Specifically, he’s accused of posting to Wikipedia the personal information of Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham, Mike Lee, and Orrin Hatch, as well as two other senators who remain unnamed.

Todd Starnes: Teacher Ridicules Black Child for Supporting President Trump

A Florida school district is investigating a teacher who allegedly rebuked a black student for being a supporter of President Trump.

The parents of the ninth-grader at Cypress Bay High School reached out to “The Todd Starnes Radio Show” with their concerns and provided a letter detailing their claims.

I have agreed not to identify the teacher or the young man because his father is an active-duty member of the military.

On Sept. 25, the student noticed that his math teacher stayed seated during the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Afterwards, he asked the teacher why she did not stand.

“Her response was something to the likes of, ‘Our country is in a mess…because of our president,’” the parent wrote in a letter to the school district.

When the teacher discovered that the young man was a Trump supporter, she seemed dumbfounded.

“[She] said, ‘You’re African-American, how can you possibly like Donald Trump?’” the parent wrote.

On a side note, oh, how I wish my friends Diamond and Silk had been inside that classroom!

"It Was All Made Up, It Was Fabricated": Trump Says Kavanaugh Victim Of Democrat "Hoax"

President Trump said that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was the victim of a Democrat Hoax, and that allegations of sexual assault levied by multiple women were "all made up" and "fabricated."

In comments made to reporters on the White House driveway, Trump addressed rumors that the Democrats will investigate and attempt to impeach Kavanaugh if they regain control over the House or Senate during midterms.

"So, I’ve been hearing that now they’re thinking about impeaching a brilliant jurist — a man that did nothing wrong, a man that was caught up in a hoax that was set up by the Democrats using the Democrats’ lawyers — and now they want to impeach him," said Trump.

The President then suggested that the attacks on Kavanaugh will bring conservatives to the polls for midterms:

"I think it’s an insult to the American public," said Trump. "The things they said about him — I don’t even think he ever heard of the words. It was all made-up. It was fabricated. And it’s a disgrace. And I think it’s going to really show you something come November sixth."

Dark clouds gather over the US housing market - If the fall we are seeing at the top spreads, the impact could be significant.

The US economy is white hot. Consumer confidence is higher than it has been since the 1990s. Unemployment just hit its lowest level since 1969. Using amazingly bold language for a central banker, US Federal Reserve chairman Jay Powell says he is “very happy” about the “ remarkably positive” outlook which he predicts may continue “for quite some time”. So why, amid all this good news, is the US housing market slowing?

It is a hugely important question, because housing is still where the majority of Americans keep most of their wealth, and it has been a traditional bellwether for economic trends. Nationwide, sales and building permits are down. Several once soaring markets, including New York City, the San Francisco area, and Denver, have been softening. Construction activity has been slowing, too, which is a concern given the disproportionate role that home building plays in US economic growth.

The problem is, ironically, the growth of the housing market itself, which has been bifurcated and has outpaced the ability of most consumers to pay for shelter.

Just as there is now a “superstar” effect of winner-takes-all in countries, industries, and even companies, so too is there one in the housing market. If you look at the 20-city Case-Shiller index of home prices as a whole, there would seem to be little cause for concern — it is just 2.4 per cent above its 2006 peak. And yet, there is a huge divide between the winners and the losers. Ten cities have set new highs and their prices are 23 per cent higher on average. The best performer, Denver, is a whopping 54 per cent above its pre-recession peak. Meanwhile, prices in 10 laggard cities are an average of 11 per cent below their pre-recession peaks. In housing, as in all else, the US is incredibly divided.

The top cities rise because they are where the jobs are (job creation is also incredibly bifurcated). Yet house prices in those cities have risen much faster than wages themselves.

That has, in turn, made it harder and harder for middle-class peopl

Limo had unlicensed driver, failed inspection before deadly crash

The limo that crashed upstate, killing 20 people, failed a safety inspection just last month — and its driver wasn’t licensed to be behind the wheel, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday.

“The driver of the vehicle, the quote-unquote limousine, did not have the appropriate license to be operating that vehicle. Second, that vehicle was inspected by the New York State Department of Transportation last month and failed inspection and was not supposed to be on the road,” Cuomo told reporters at the Columbus Day parade in Manhattan.

“The owner of the company — in my opinion, because there’ll be legal consequences — the owner of the company had no business putting [a] failed vehicle on the road. So we’ll go through the whole situation, but sometimes we have the laws, we have the regulations, they’re broken,” the governor said.

The vehicle’s operator, Prestige Limousine Chauffeur Service, has had an overall dismal track history on safety, according to records from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Alan Dershowitz: The Constitution won't permit Democrats to impeach Brett Kavanaugh

Democrats seeking to impeach Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh will be hamstrung by the Constitution, according to Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz.

"The Constitution would not permit impeachment of a sitting justice for actions he took while a private citizen 35 years ago, nor would it permit using the laws of perjury, which are very tough," Dershowitz said Monday during an interview with Fox News.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the New York Democrat poised to chair the House Judiciary Committee should his party win a majority after the 2018 midterm elections, has suggested the panel may investigate Kavanaugh under his leadership. Reps. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., and Ted Lieu, D-Calif., have already voiced their support for probing the newly installed justice.

A Viewer Writes: New Clinton Investigations

Nancy Pelosi is asking for yet another investigation into Justice Kavanaugh. With the new Democratic Socialist Party that now believes "You are Guilty until you prove yourself innocent", she has opened the door to now do a complete re-investigation of the following Clinton cover-ups: DNC collusion with the Russians on the Fake Russian Dossier during the 2016 elections, funneling money through the Clinton Foundation during the 2016 election, destruction of e-mails and obstructing justice during an FBI investigation, Uranium One where as Secretary of State Clinton was involved with the selling off of nuclear assets to the Russians and one item I've always been real suspicious about was the so called suicide of Jodi Foster. He was just about ready to retire, had a great family but because he was about to present evidence against the Clintons he just suddenly commits suicide. Yeah, right. How about the young DNC staffer found suddenly dead on the sidewalks of DC.Well Representative Pelosi, you opened the books remember. "You are Guilty until you prove yourself innocent. So Democratic Socialist Party, start proving! John Palmer, Delmar, Md.

Kunstler: Civil War Two Looms As Deep State Circles The Wagons

Really? Why should anyone believe her?

Senator Collins of Maine said she believed that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford experienced somethingtraumatic, just not at the hands of Mr. Kavanaugh. I believe Senator Collins said that to placate the #Metoo mob, not because she actually believed it. I believe Christine Blasey Ford was lying, through and through, in her injured little girl voice, like a bad imitation of Truman Capote.

I believe that the Christine Blasey Ford gambit was an extension of the sinister activities underway since early 2016 in the Department of Justice and the FBI to un-do the last presidential election, and that the real and truthful story about these seditious monkeyshines is going to blow wide open.

It turns out that the Deep State is a small world.

Did you know that the lawyer sitting next to Dr. Ford in the Senate hearings, one Michael Bromwich, is also an attorney for Andrew McCabe, the former FBI Deputy Director fired for lying to investigators from his own agency and currently singing to a grand jury?

What a coincidence. Out of all the lawyers in the most lawyer-infested corner of the USA, she just happened to hook up with him.

It’s a matter of record that Dr. Ford traveled to Rehobeth Beach Delaware on July 26, where her Best Friend Forever and former room-mate, Monica McLean, lives, and that she spent the next four days there before sending a letter July 30 to Senator Diane Feinstein that kicked off the “sexual assault” circus. Did you know that Monica McClean was a retired FBI special agent, and that she worked in the US Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York under Preet Bharara, who had earlier worked for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer?

Liberal activists say there's no room in Senate for centrists like Susan Collins

As the Senate emptied Saturday, the tension of Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh’s confirmation finally lessening, Sen. Susan M. Collins went desk to desk picking up discarded copies of the Congressional Record from the day before.

They contained the official text of her 44-minute address to colleagues Friday afternoon — a speech that took the wind out of Democrats’ opposition, sealed Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation and, according to her colleagues, will go down in history as a masterful statement of centrist principles in a chamber where the political center has all but disappeared.

If liberal activists have their way, Ms. Collins will disappear from the Senate, too.

They had been counting on her to buck her party and vote against Justice Kavanaugh, a move that might have doomed his nomination. They had even attempted what some senators called a “bribe,” raising millions of dollars in campaign pledges that they said they would donate to her opponent if she voted for President Trump’s nominee.

“It was a disgraceful situation brought about by people that are evil, and he toughed it out,” he said. “We all toughed it out together.”

A Senate Democrat Reportedly Outsourced Parts Of The Trump-Russia Probe To Operative Linked To Soros, Fusion GPS

A Democratic senator outsourced parts of the investigation into possible Trump-Russia collusion to a former Senate staffer with links to George Soros and Fusion GPS, according to a New Yorker report.

The New Yorker reports the unidentified senator contacted Daniel Jones, a former Senate Intelligence Committee staffer, around March 2017 to review data regarding a possible link between the computer servers of the Trump Organization and a Russian bank called Alfa Bank.

Jones, who worked under California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein when she chaired the intelligence panel, had just formed a non-profit group called the Democracy Integrity Project. The organization worked closely with Fusion GPS and former British spy Christopher Steele, the tag-team duo that produced the Democrat-funded dossier accusing the Trump campaign of colluding with the Kremlin.

Jones’s operation was also funded by a small group of billionaires, including left-wing philanthropist George Soros. Jones told the FBI in March 2017 that between 7 and 10 billionaires had put up $50 million to continue an investigation into Russian meddling in elections.

Watchdog presses FEC for audit on Maxine Waters fundraising practices

California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters is facing a new complaint about an obscure fundraising tactic that rakes in thousands from state politicians in exchange for being listed on her slate mailers — this time, involving supporters of a former Los Angeles mayor defeated in the June gubernatorial primary.

The National Legal and Policy Center, a conservative watchdog group, filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against Waters, her campaign and a pro-charter school group called Families and Teachers for Antonio Villaraigosa — which backed the former Democratic mayor of Los Angeles.

The pro-Villaraigosa group paid $25,000 to the Citizens for Waters Committee on May 25 to include Villaraigosa in her slate mailer, according to the complaint. FEC guidelines, however, say only a candidate’s committee can pay for the mailers — sample ballots traditionally mailed out to about 200,000 voters in Los Angeles highlighting whom Waters supports.

Waters’ mailers have faced scrutiny since 2010 because the campaign, since 2004, has paid her daughter Karen Waters, or her public relations firm Progressive Connections, to produce, print and mail the sample ballots.

What Does The Bible Say About False Accusers And #BelieveWomen?

Despite the best efforts of unhinged leftists - the nature of which was perhaps most aptly demonstrated by the hysterical howls of the Shrieking Banshee Brigade coming from the Senate gallery right beforeSaturday’s final vote - Judge, er, Justice Kavanaugh was finally confirmed to the Supreme Court of the United States.

It was a tough fight, one in which liberals pulled out literally every possible stop to win. They thankfully failed, but this crucial victory didn’t come without several disturbing trends, perhaps the most notable being the fact - and this has been brewing ever since the #MeToo movement started - that we are apparently supposed to #BelieveWomen every time they decide to make a claim about a man. That’s right - no matter how outlandish, no matter how far removed by time, no matter how politically motivated, if a woman says it, it’s true and it totally happened exactly as she said it did. And if you don’t believe it, you’re a sexist pig.

It’s an odd, patronizing, dehumanizing claim, actually. To attribute perfection to half the human population when the truth is so obviously different - as anyone with a daughter knows - is patently absurd, and dangerous. And yet here we are, for all intents and purposes being called heretics for acknowledging that, indeed, women can and do lie about men. And sadly, the more “power” some unhinged members of the opposite sex think they have to destroy men for some real or perceived wrong, the more men will be falsely accused and unnecessarily railroaded.

Nikki Haley out as United Nations ambassador

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has resigned from her top diplomatic post.

President Trump accepted the former South Carolina governor's resignation after the pair discussed her departure during a White House visit last week, Axios first reported Tuesday. The timing of when she will officially leave the role is still unclear.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced on Twitter that Trump and Haley will meet in the Oval Office at 10:30 a.m. ET in a meeting that will be open to news outlets. Trump tweeted soon after he and his "friend" Haley would have a "big announcement."

American Conservative Union chair Matt Schlapp, whose wife Mercedes Schlapp is White House director of strategic communications, said on Fox News after the news broke: "Unless this is a personal issue or health concern, which I hope is not the case, it's obviously very unusual for a significant and prominent person on the president's team to announce that she is leaving so close to an election. There is something to this story. Like everyone in America I want to know what it is."

New USMS Child Recovery Unit Recovers 123 Children During 1-Day Operation

Detroit, MI – The U.S. Marshals Service - Detroit Missing Child Recovery Unit, U.S. Marshals Service Sex Offender Investigations Branch, Michigan State Police and law enforcement officers from Wayne County agencies participated in Operation MISafeKid, a missing juvenile sweep to identify and recover missing children from the area with an emphasis on locating victims of sex trafficking.

The one-day initiative took place Sept. 26 throughout Wayne County. The USMS DMCRU coordinated with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, HUD-OIG, Detroit Police Department and the Michigan State Police and investigated missing child case files prior to the operation. Participating officers were given the case files and began investigating their whereabouts by visiting last known addresses, friend’s homes and schools in hopes of finding them in a safe place.

Out of 301 files of missing children, 123 were identified and recovered safely during the operation. All 123 children were physically located and interviewed -- standard protocol for the Michigan State Police. All of the children located were interviewed about potentially being sexually victimized or used in a sex trafficking ring during their period of time that they were deemed missing. Three cases were identified as being possible sex trafficking cases, and one homeless teen was transported back to the command post after it was discovered that he had not had anything to eat in three days. He was then debriefed and turned over to Child Protective Services for aftercare.

This is the first time an operation of this kind has been conducted in Wayne County. USMS DMCRU was requested to assist on 30 missing child cases two weeks prior to the sweep. These cases were adopted by the U.S. Marshals Service and assigned to deputy U.S. marshals. DMCRU located and recovered nine children prior to the sweep and an additional seven during the operation. The Michigan State Police Clearing House has asked for continued assistance on the remaining 14 cases. Additionally, information was obtained by DMCRU on two missing children in Texas and one in Minnesota. DMCRU has been requested to assist on these recoveries and is actively investigating them at this time.

The Eastern District of Michigan is fully committed to assisting state and local agencies with locating and recovering missing children and the prevention of their falling victim to sex trafficking. The Detroit Missing Child Recovery Unit is tasked with investigating and recovering missing children upon request by a law enforcement agency currently attempting to locate a missing child. The message to the missing children and their families that we wish to convey is that we will never stop looking for you.

Agencies involved in the operation included the USMS Detroit DMCRU (SOIB), Michigan State Police, Allen Park Police Department, Canton Police Department, Dearborn Heights Police Department, Detroit Police Department, Detroit Public Schools Police Department, FBI, Flat Rock Police Department, Inkster Police Department, Northville Township Police Department, Plymouth Police Department, Redford Township Police Department, Riverview Police Department, Romulus Police Department, Trenton Police Department, Van Buren Township Police Department, Wayne Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department as well as the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and its Children’s Protective Services (CPS) and Vista Maria Juvenile Detention Center.

Amazon Funneled Cash to Salafist Org Founded by ‘Extremist’ Saudi Scholar

Amazon has been funneling cash to a Salafist ‘charity’ led by an Islamic scholar described as “one of the most dangerous men in Britain” by counter-extremists, a British newspaper has claimed.

The Jeff Bezos-led retail giant allowed the Muslim Research and Development Foundation (MRDF) founded by Saudi-born Haitham al-Haddad into its Amazon Smile programme, which allows customers to donate a percentage of their purchases to charity, according to a Times investigation.

Al-Haddad has been branded “dangerous” by the Quilliam counter-extremism think tank, and as “misogynistic, racist, and homophobic” by UK Government counter-extremism commissioner Sara Khan.

MD lawmakers react to the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh

U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin voted no on the confirmation. Since the vote, Maryland politicians have reacted.

Maryland Gubernatorial Democratic Candidate Ben Jealous released a statement. It says, "Today is a deeply frustrating and unsettling moment in our nation's history – a day when the voices of tens of millions of Americans, and so many survivors of sexual assault, were ignored so that one party could further politicize the highest court in our land. It was a clear repudiation of a country calling out for gender equality and cultural change.

Goodwin: Hillary Clinton keeps finding ways to denigrate democracy

And so our fiery national nightmare is over. For now.

But only a Pollyanna would think peace is about to break out across the bloody political and cultural battlefields. We are a long way from fixing what was shattered and retrieving what has been lost.

There were many causes and events on the long road that brought us to this low place, but a telling moment took place almost exactly two years ago. It was the final debate of the presidential campaign, held on Oct. 19, 2016.

Here is how The New York Times began its slanted coverage: “In a remarkable statement that seemed to cast doubt on American democracy, Donald J. Trump said Wednesday that he might not accept the results of next month’s election if he felt it was rigged against him — a stand that Hillary Clinton blasted as ‘horrifying.’ ”

After noting that no modern president refused to accept election results, the paper quoted Clinton attacking Trump.

“Let’s be clear about what he is saying and what that means,” she said. “He is denigrating — he is talking down our democracy. And I am appalled that someone who is the nominee of one of our two major parties would take that position.”

Fast forward to now, and it is the height of irony — and hypocrisy — that Clinton and her supporters, including the Times, still refuse to accept the election’s outcome. It started with her flimsy claims of Russian collusion and continues uninterrupted, with the character assassination campaign against Brett Kavanaugh the latest example.

Kavanaugh’s Already Hired as Many African-American Clerks as Ginsberg Has Since 1993

Fresh off of an unprecedented confirmation hearing, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has made an unprecedented impact on the workings of the court.

Because Kavanaugh hired four female law clerks to work for him, women now hold the majority of clerkships for the first time in court history, according to The New York Times.

One of the four women is black, which means that in his very few days on the court, Kavanaugh has equaled the number of black clerks hired by liberal Justice Ruth Baser Ginsburg, according to a USA Today analysis of court clerks. That same analysis found most Supreme Court clerks were while males.

Kavanaugh had promised during his hearings that while serving on the Supreme Court, he would follow the precedent he set over 12 years on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit when most of the clerks he hired were women.

“My women law clerks said I was one of the strongest advocates in the federal judiciary for women lawyers,” Kavanaugh said at the hearing, The Washington Post reported. “And they wrote that the legal profession is fairer and more equal because of me.”

Horror crash limo owner former FBI informant

The owner of the limousine company behind Saturday's horror crash which killed 20 people is a former FBI informant who went undercover to record alleged terrorists in mosques after fleeing to the US from Pakistan in the 1990s where he'd been accused of murder, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Shahed Hussain, 62, is named as the owner of Prestige Limousines, aka Hasy Limos and Saratoga Luxury Limousine, in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration documents.

In the last two years, the company has had at least four cars pulled out of service because they failed safety inspections.

The most recent was the modified 2001 Ford Excursion limousine which was carrying 17 passengers when driver Scott Lisinicchia crashed on Saturday, killing himself, all those on board and two pedestrians in the parking lot he came screeching into after running a stop sign in Schoharie, New York.

2010 court documents from the terrorism trials of four men who plotted to blow up the synagogues in the Bronx and shoot down planes coming out of Newburgh airbase reveal Hussain's past ties to the FBI.

In 2002, he convinced the bureau to take him on after being caught running a dangerous DMV scan which helped prospective drivers cheat on their tests.

Hussain arrived in the United States in 1994 after fleeing his native Pakistan where he had been arrested for murder.

After his father bribed local police to let him go, Hussain fled the country, using a British passport to leave Pakistan, enter Moscow and then travel to Mexico.

From Mexico, he entered the US through El Paso in Texas. From there, he traveled to Albany.

Peggy Grande: Dianne Feinstein shows her true colors in the Kavanaugh fight

Senator Dianne Feinstein has had a long and illustrious career with moments of great leadership, but in the recent Kavanaugh hearings, the California Democrat exposed herself as a standard partisan hack, leading the charge into an unnecessary, and losing battle. As a result, she showed that she and her party are desperate and power hungry, but are NOT champions for women.

Growing up in California I have known of Senator Feinstein all my adult life. In fact, she had a condo in Los Angeles right across the street from where Ronald Reagan’s office was and where I worked for 10 years. We crossed paths on several occasions and even though we are on different sides of the political aisle I always found her to be cordial, measured, a voice of reason and common sense that could be relied upon, even if her ultimate conclusion or vote was one I didn’t agree with or support.

What happened to THAT Dianne Feinstein? After so many admirable years of public service, how did she drift so far out of the mainstream? How did she lose the plot? Most Dems eventually do but I thought she was the exception to that. I was clearly wrong and am deeply disappointed in her, as are many Californians.

But this Judicial Committee hearing was never about justice for Dr. Ford or about hearing and validating her claims. It was about creating a narrative of negativity against Judge Kavanaugh, fabricating a cloud of suspicion and doubt that would hopefully fog the room and make it impossible to distinguish fact from fiction and cause chaos to the point that the Judiciary Committee would throw up their hands and say, “it’s just not worth it – let’s go with someone else.” Thank goodness they didn’t.

Pushing aside the high legal bar, Dershowitz added on Monday that Democrats would also face political ramifications should they try to remove Kavanaugh from the bench.

"That would be absolutely foolish, inconsistent, and hypocritical," he said.

Teacher on paid leave after call to kill Justice Kavanaugh: 'Take one for the team'

A special education teacher in Minnesota may soon receive some “special” attention by federal law enforcement officials after calling for the killing of Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh.

Intermediate School District 917 has placed Samantha Ness on paid administrative leave for a tweet, now deleted, which encouraged the assassination of the newest member of the U.S. Supreme Court.

“So whose [sic] gonna take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?” Ms. Ness wrote Saturday after senators voted to confirm President Trump’s nominee to the high court.

“Over the weekend, the district has received a complaint regarding an employee,” Superintendent Mark Zuzek said in a statement, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported Monday. “The employee has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota has pursued at least two prosecutions for similar threats against federal judges in recent years, the newspaper added.

Limbaugh: Trump Telling The Truth About Ford's Testimony Was The Turning Point

"I don't know. I don't know. I don't know."

President Trump received a lot of flak for pointing out all of the holes in Christine Blasey Ford's allegations against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh — including from key swing vote Susan Collins — but conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh argued Monday that Trump's much-maligned "mocking" of Ford was actually the "turning point" of the Kavanaugh confirmation debate.

At a rally in Southaven, Mississippi last Tuesday, Trump highlighted all the gaps in Ford's testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee. "36 years ago this happened. I had one beer. Well, do you think it was — nope, it was one beer," Trump said. "How did you get home? I don't remember. How'd you get there? I don't remember. Where is the place? I don't remember. How many years ago was it? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. What neighborhood was it in? I don't know. Where's the house? I don't know. Upstairs, downstairs — where was it? I don't know — but I had one beer. That's the only thing I remember."

Half of Antibiotics Given With No Infection Noted

After years of public health warnings about antibiotic misuse, a new study suggests the problem is far from being solved.

Researchers found that of more than 500,000 antibiotic prescriptions they analyzed, nearly half were written without an infection-related diagnosis. And about 20 percent were given without an office visit -- usually over the phone.

It's not clear how many of those prescriptions were actually inappropriate, said lead researcher Dr. Jeffrey Linder, of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.

His team looked at patient records, and "bad coding" could be part of the problem, Linder explained. He was referring to the system doctors use for recording diagnoses.

Still, the findings are concerning, Linder said.

Damage estimate for Florence puts hurricane as one of the costliest to hit US

Hurricane Florence is expected to go down as the sixth costliest hurricane to hit in U.S. history in terms of property damage.

More than a month has passed since Florence made landfall on the coast of the Carolinas on Sept. 14, resulting in widespread destruction.

Researchers from Moody's Analytics believe a swath of land stretching from Virginia down to Georgia will see $44 billion in damage due mostly to the heavy rainfall — up to 36 inches in some spots — and resulting flooding.

Liberal Organizer Tells NYC Activists Not to Mention Where They’re From While Campaigning

Liberal activists from New York City were bused up to New York's 19th Congressional District on Saturday to volunteer for Democratic nominee Antonio Delgado's campaign, but before they reached their destination, a female organizer told the volunteers not to say where they are from because the campaign is concerned about the optics of receiving outside support.

The Washington Free Beacon obtained audio of Kate Linker, president of Greater NYC for Change, telling a group of volunteers on a bus sponsored by Rep. Jerry Nadler (D., N.Y.) that the Delgado campaign is concerned about the optics of them visiting, saying that they should not post on social media that they are from New York City.

"One thing that I wanted to say that is important, if you post on social media, please do not mention that you are from New York City," Linker said. "The reason is, much though they love us, the Faso campaign on September 15th posted that the Delgado campaign was bussing in bus loads of New York City democratic socialists, bringing outsiders in to try to sway the campaign. And the [Delgado] campaign is understandably concerned about this."

Alexander: Thank You Justice Kavanaugh

Allow me to offer, on behalf of our Patriot Post staff and grassroots American Patriots across the nation, our gratitude and thanks to Justice Brett Kavanaugh, his wife Ashley, and their family, who were willing to remain steadfast against the fires of hell in defense of our Constitution and the Supreme Court.

Shortly after a highly contested 50 to 48 vote last Saturday, Kavanaugh was administered his oath by Chief Justice John Roberts, becoming the 114th Supreme Court Justice. After his nomination was delayed, he will be seated on the Court a week into its current term, as Justice Roberts noted, “so that he can begin to participate in the work of the Court immediately.”

Joe Manchin (D-WV) was the sole Democrat voting for Kavanaugh, relieving the need for Steve Daines (R-MT) to return from his daughter’s wedding Saturday to cast his vote in favor of Kavanaugh. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R?-AK) voted “present.”

This latest SCOTUS vote represents the lowest support for any nominee, just behind the 52-48 vote to confirm Justice Clarence Thomas in 1991, and a partisan trend. The 2005 confirmation of George Bush’s nominee John Roberts was 78–22, with half of Democrats voting with Republicans. Bush’s 2006 nominee Samuel Alito was confirmed by a vote of 58-42. Donald Trump’s nominee Neil Gorsuch was confirmed by a vote of 54-45. Adding Judge Kavanaugh to the Court restores it to the balance under Ronald Reagan.

The Civil War we are in

A few days ago, Jack Minzey, sent what was to be the final chapter in the long line of books and treatises which he had written.

Jack went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, 8 April 2018.

Professionally, Jack was head of the Department of Education at Eastern Michigan University as well as a prolific author of numerous books, most of which were on the topic of Education and the Government role therein. His interest in Conservative Politics was exceeded only by his intellectual ability.

This is the last of his works:

Civil War

How do civil wars happen? Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can't settle the question through elections because they don't even agree that elections are how you decide who's in charge.

That's the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war.

The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it's not the first time they've done this.

The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn't really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There's a pattern here.

What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don't accept the results of any election that they don't win.

It means they don't believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections. That's a civil war.

There's no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government.

This isn't dissent. It's not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they're the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election.

When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don't win, what you want is a dictatorship. Your very own dictatorship.

The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it's inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do?

They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can't scratch his own back without his say so, that's the civil war.

Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that's not the system that runs this country. The Democrat's system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country.

If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. His power is unlimited. He's a dictator.

But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can't do anything. He isn't even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented.

A Democrat in the White House has 'discretion' to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn't even have the 'discretion' to reverse himself. That's how the game is played. That's how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn't yet won that particular fight.

Some anti-Kavanaugh protesters were paid, journalist reveals

A journalist embedded with anti-Kavanaugh protesters says that some protesters were in fact paid, as President Trump has alleged.

“A lot of them were normal people who were mad,” said Vice D.C. bureau chief Shawna Thomas on ABC’s “This Week,” adding, “We also saw people who were organized.”

She pointed to activists who confronted Sen. Jeff Flake, Arizona Republican, in an elevator late last month before the Senate Judiciary Committee voted on the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, who has since been confirmed.

“That moment with Jeff Flake on the Hill,” Ms. Thomas said. “We talked to one woman who works for UltraViolet who was paid — she helped steer people in the right ways to be able to confront senators.”

“There were people who were paid by organizations like UltraViolet to try to harness that energy in a way that would make the viral moments that we ended up seeing,” said Ms. Thomas.

False reports of sexual assault not as rare as claimed, studies show

The assertion from forces against Brett M. Kavanaugh that false allegations of rape or attempted rape are extremely rare is rebutted by a number of studies, researchers say.

Liberals on TV and social media said repeatedly during the Senate confirmation process that only 2 percent of charges are lies — meaning there likely would be truth in the majority of such charges, such as that of Christine Blasey Ford, who accused now-Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her 36 years ago.

Brent E. Turvey, a criminologist, wrote a 2017 book that dispels this notion. His research, and that of two co-authors, cited statistical studies and police crime reports. One academic study showed that as many as FORTY percent of sexual assault charges are false.

Mr. Turvey wrote that the FBI in the 1990s pegged the falsity rate at 8 percent for rape or attempted rape complaints.

“There is no shortage of politicians, victims’ advocates and news articles claiming that the nationwide false report for rape and sexual assault is almost nonexistent, presenting a figure of around 2 percent,” writes Mr. Turvey, who directs the Forensic Criminology Institute. “This figure is not only inaccurate, but also it has no basis in reality. Reporting it publicly as a valid frequency rate with any empirical basis is either scientifically negligent or fraudulent.”

A recent study supports this assessment. The Pentagon issues an annual report on sexual assaults in the military. Nearly one-quarter of all cases last year were thrown out for lack of evidence, according to a report released in May.

DMV Finds Another 1,500 People It Wrongly Registered to Vote, Among Them Non-Citizens

Randall Marquis has lived in California for 31 years, but he knew it was a mistake when he received a notice last month that said he was newly registered to vote. He may have a state driver’s license, but he’s a citizen of Canada.

“When I saw that card, I just threw it out,” Marquis said. “I know I’m not going to vote. I’m not allowed to vote, it’s stupid that I should be registered to vote.”

The Newport Beach resident, who has a green card and is married to a U.S. citizen, was one of some 1,500 people who the California Department of Motor Vehicles said on Monday were wrongly registered to vote between late April and late September. These errors, which included other non-citizens, are in addition to the roughly 23,000 registration mistakes disclosed by the DMV last month.

Trump: 'Democrats are going to end up voting Republican' in midterms

President Trump said Monday that Democrats’ smearing of Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, and their calls for his impeachment, will prompt many disgusted Democratic voters to support Republican candidates in the mid-term elections.

Before departing the White House for Florida to speak Monday at the annual convention of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Mr. Trump argued that the rival party will end up alienating large chunks of its base before the key November elections.

“I think a lot of Democrats are going to vote Republican,” Mr. Trump told reporters at the White House. “The main base of the Democrats have shifted so far left that we’ll end up being Venezuela. I think a lot of Democrats are going to be voting Republican on Nov. 6.”

Funeral homes in Maryland stock up on naloxone

Funeral directors in Maryland are increasingly concerned their employees could be exposed to opioids.

That's why some are stocking naloxone, the medication the reverses the effects of an overdose.

Funeral directors are calling themselves the 'last responders' to the opioid epidemic, The Baltimore Sun reported on Friday.

The concern is that employees could come into contact with opioids on a dead person's body or the clothes of a mourner.

Synthetic opioids like fentanyl and carfentanyl can be deadly, even in quantities as small as a grain of salt when inhaled or absorbed through the skin.

The National Funeral Directors Association is recommending members to prepare for the possibility that someone could suffer from exposure.

The association has said that members should recognize overdose symptoms and train staff to administer naloxone.

Susan Collins: I don't believe Brett Kavanaugh was Christine Blasey Ford's assailant

Republican Sen. Susan Collins, whose vote was crucial in confirming Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, said she believes his accuser was sexually assaulted but doesn’t think he was the one responsible.

“I do not believe that Brett Kavanaugh was her assailant,” she told CNN’s “State of the Union” in an interview scheduled to air on Sunday. “I do believe that she was assaulted. I don’t know by whom. I’m not certain when.”

Christine Blasey Ford, a university professor from California, accused Kavanaugh of groping her during a high school party in 1982.

The FBI conducted a supplemental investigation into Kavanaugh’s background but found no one who could corroborate her account.

Senators were able to view the report that was available only in a secure setting on the Capitol.

Collins of Maine said Ford’s testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee was “heart-wrenching” but added that Kavanaugh also passionately denied her accusations.

“I found Dr. Ford’s testimony to be heart-wrenching, painful, compelling, and I believe that she believes what she testified to,” Collins said. “But we also had a case where Judge Kavanaugh came forward and said, ‘I’m 100 percent certain that this did not happen,’ so here you have two people who are each 100 percent certain of what they’re saying under pain of perjury,” she said on CNN.
