  2. If the wind is just right, a gentle, cooling, fragrant spray will cover the performers and audience, making this event even more memorable.

  3. Still no safety protection along river. How many of the 600 attendees to this flop will end up in the river. SAFTY not an issue.

  4. Good idea, you have to aerate a sewage lagoon to keep the bacteria growing to break down the solids. Look it up.

  5. They have a lot of them at the sewage treatment plant.

  6. 9:43am I am sure u are being sarcastic but that water is disgusting.

It sure looks pretty though. And its not a bad touch. I drove by there this morning and for all the hate it look good. It IS a totally unnecessary and an absolute waste of money but it looks good. It is built right next to a loud a$$ highway with 24/7 traffic but who cares. It looks good right?

BOY WONDER. Sound travels. And I don't care about the sound from the amphitheater. I am talking about all the traffic that is going to ruin any attempt to use this venue. Moron. Very expensive landscaping.

  7. Salisbury- come for the folk, stay for the dysentery!

  8. It literally is a disease spreader. One could potentially contract any number of parasites, toxic algae effects, bacterial infections such as pfiesteria or digestive disorders like campylobacter, listeria and worse. The river is sick. Just below the zoo it is a bacteria laden fish kill zone. City park is overgrown, polluted and unsafe. The last tidal stretch between Snow Hill rd. and rt. 13 is a stinking slimey dump zone. Dead fish, ducks and geese are everywhere. The nutrient and glyphosate runoff upstream are deadly, the ponds choked with grass and algae. Salisbury, Wicomico County has a big problem on their hands and the continue to ignore it.

  14. At least it will help keep the trash out of the middle of the water....hey maybe they can get some inmates to walk along the edge and pick up the trash??

  15. The ditch is part of the navigable waters of the US. Did the Coast Guard and DNR approve placement of this hazard to navigation?

  16. not having any kind of safety fence or rail along the river walk is just plain dumb. I can just see some little toddler walking with mommy and daddy and falling into the river during this stupid event.

  18. They are doing their little dog and pony show and someone referred to Jakes wife as "our first lady". WTH. Conceited much? Really. I just don't know what to say. Just a bit too much for me. She does absolutely nothing, compared to the Gov's wife and the POTUS's wife.

Someone please, prove me wrong and give me an example of how she has contributed to ANYTHING.

  19. In the ceremony he says we are going to get 100,000 visitors to the folked festival!!! The new number has tripled!!!

And then an ambulance goes by and drowns out his blabbering.

He also said that 2500 people in the community decided they wanted this amphitheater to see plays and hear music. Plays?

Oh and of course his buddy from Delmarva Veteran Builders got up and named all his buddies that he wanted to give recognition to. His children are going to play there, he says. (I want to see pictures of that!)

The "first lady" they were referring to is Gov Hogans wife, not Jakes - just an fyi - but yea it was easy to mistaken who they were referring to.

  20. So not only do you have all the traffic noise, but then you have that loud fountain right behind where performers will be. Could they not have picked a worse location? (not to mention the heroin addicts they're displacing!)

  21. Watch as the august heat dries up and kills the 6thou worth of new sod...with no irrigation. All they do is throw money away.

  22. What do you think the fountain pump cost? I guess it depends on the contractor and who authorizes the purchase. I'd say pump 6,000.00. Not including labor and future maintenance.

Oh yes they do, they spent thousands on those ring that you throw in the water and it has a rope attached to it.

Never mind that a toddler falls overboard and sinks to the bottom and never to be seen again.

    1. This is my concern exactly. Not adults, yes someone who couldn’t swim would still be in trouble but with others around likely would be rescued. A toddler on the other hand wouldn’t stand a chance and as a father of a 2 1/2 year old and 15 month old i could never take my kids down there unless they were strapped in the stroller. Me and my wife are very attentive parents but it only takes one second to look away and not have a railing is the dumbest thing the city has ever done downtown in my opinion.
