Grabbing The Priests By The Horns, Do As I Say, Not As I Do...

It would seem that at least here on the Eastern Shore, little has been challenged when it comes to the Catholic Church and their incredible cover up of a multitude of Priests molesting children across our nation.

I personally grew up Catholic and frankly I had always felt ANYTHING said against the Church and its beliefs was like a sin. A sin in the worst kind of way too. You know, like you were going to Hell if you ever did such a thing.

Here we have a Church that for all my years was against homosexuality, yet here are these Priests abusing their absolution as leaders to abuse little children. Now I'm livid and it's time something is said about it.

Much like I don't hate gays, I don't hate Catholics either. However, I do HATE these SOB's, (pedophiles) abusing the sanctity of the Catholic Church without accountability. Oh, we keep hearing each case, (how convenient) is beyond the statute of limitation, therefore these Priests can't be held accountable for their actions.

I'll put it to you this way. I will no longer support the Catholic Church and why should I. When I'm raised to tell the truth and confess my sins, (according to them) and they flat out lie and abuse innocent children by the thousands, you tell me why I should be so stupid as to hang with a pedophile crowd. Will the Catholic Church call me a Racist or whatever Liberal term they create in the near future for the very people who agree with my stance?

Well, if so, I'll proudly wear that label because I have had enough. My God will support my decision, I firmly believe that. I firmly believe, (and so should you) we were created man and woman, not man on man or woman on woman. I do not believe in gay marriage, never have, never will.

Shame on the Catholic Church for the tactics they have done to hide this abuse from the public. Transferring Priests to other cities just to hide that very abuse is criminal. A pedophile is a pedophile, period. However, when you garnish the trust from your parishioners and then abuse that trust you are the Devil himself.

I'm done with the Catholic Church.

  1. My parents always told me, "If you can't say something nice about someone don't say anything at all." So my comment about the Catholic Church is... The Vatican museum is a great tour.

  3. In the new testament Jesus spoke out in his suffer the little children sermon. Better to be thrown overboard with a millstone tied around your neck than to corrupt one of these children. This means death to those who would corrupt a child. That is what these pedophile priest are doing and anyone in the public trust who handles children.
It's actions and words! These priests should be locked up!

  4. This is unfortunate, because the one TRUE religion will naturally be the most contested. You need to reconsider.

  5. You should reconsider 10:33 if you think that there is only one true religion. That is being very uninformed, almost like being brain washed. Who is qualified to say that there is only one true religion, certainly not the Pope?

  6. I Do not read or see anything in the bible that says the church will get you to heaven or doing good things . Didn't read anything about a child molester being any worst than any other pervert as far as sin in Gods eyes. But there is a lot about following man and believing that they somehow have special powers none less Jesus mother. I'm not bashing on any religion or person but read the bible for yourself and see what it truly says and means. A priest, pastor, bishops and deacons are all able to sin and do sin. Stop the blame game and fix the issue learn read the Bible and yes a person that uses there power to harm little children will have to answer for it now and later.

  7. The Catholic church is not a real religion. It's is a fake church. They pick and choose what parts of the bible they want to follow. It is filled with perverts of every kind not only as officials but also many of those who attend.

  9. One true religion?
    That's debatable!
Most see the Catholic Church as an extension of the old Roman Empire.

The empire was starting to fade, so they found another way of extending that power from the growing Christian movement.

With power, comes corruption, that is why there are break away churches like the Lutheran Church and other Protestant churches.

  10. I have, had he killed himself, who was abused by a priest at St. Francis in Salibury when he was a kid in the 60's. He grew up thinking he was gay because of the abuse. He confided in me that the church settled with him and others who threatened law suits. It was kept hush. He committed suicide over his confusion of whether he was gay or not. Wonderful job Catholic church!

  11. This is a bold decision, and one, I'm sure, that holds a great deal of regret. I can't say that I blame you. Sadly, Church has always been this way, going back to when it was the most powerful political force on Earth.
Its dirty secret is out, but what does it do? Ignore, cover up, finally admit, offer weak apologies and offer guarantees of no further abuses. One trip to the confessional by the offending priest and it's back to the game in a different diocese, with that open confessional always waiting and the Church not willing to go farther with its discipline.

  13. I was done with the Catholic Church WAAAAAAAAAAY back in the early 80's when I wanted to get married in the church, but my wife had been previously married. The "Preacher" (since was no Father-like figure) told me that he couldn't marry both of us because of my wife's past marriage and the Church wouldn't recognize it.

I politely asked "how do I make the church recognize both my wife and her previous marriage?" The Preacher sat there for a moment in his holy-fatness looking at me, looking at my future bride and said - "a small donation to the church would make everything right."

I politely asked "how much is a small donation?" He again sat there, almost in a frustrated manner since I asked another question. It felt like 15 minutes had gone by and he finally said $1,000 dollars.

This time I sat there, looking at him, then thanked him for his time, got up exited the building saying out loud - NEVER AGAIN!

Have not been into a Catholic Church since and have no plans to visit one again!!

    FOUR Days until TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. That is funny how they always mention it is out of statue of limitations for the priests but if you are a politicians, they can bring back or bring up charges on you from 40 years ago, interesting how that works!!!!!!

  15. I was raised a Catholic and haven't set foot in a Catholic church since I became an adult. From what I can see, religion is the root of many ills. Your spirituality should be a personal relationship with the divine. You do NOT need a middle man.

  17. the church really needs to abolish the rule of priests being celibate. It's human nature to want to have sex. The way it's been set up for generations is simply wrong. Pedophiles are drawn to the profession because of the way it's set up.

  18. The devil is alive and well in the Roman Catholic Church, and believe it or not, in any denomination of believers. The "War" goes on between good and evil to this very moment. The devil will win many battles, but ultimately will lose the "War". It is incumbent upon every Christian of faith to be ever watchful of such abhorrent behavior and face it straight on. Admonish in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and cast them from the body of believers involved and seek appropriate legal action against all such persons identified.

  20. Bottom Line: There are sexual perverts in ALL churches, but it does seem the Catholic Church is the worst. There is a massive issue with sex trafficking, child sacrifices, the kidnapping of children used in sexual acts, demonic activities using children, planned parenthood selling aborted babies body parts for these evil perverts, and so much more. These evil activities have been going on for Many years. President Trump is the First president to take this on and Expose those who are participating, those who are active players. Again; there are sexual perverts in ALL walks of life. Think about that. Are your children Safe?

10:33 I hate to burst your bubble, but the Catholic Church is not the One True Church. Never has been and never will be. The Church of Jesus are comprised of those that have been Born Again of the Spirit of God, those that have recognized they are sinners that need a Savior, need forgiveness and they accept that Jesus Christ is the Only way...They repent and ask Jesus to forgive them for their sins. After all this is why God sent His Son to earth to eventually die on the Cross for ALL...Jesus wants No One to be lost, but He gives all a choice. He doesn't Make anyone do what they don't want to do. This, again; is the True Body of Christ. Those who have been Born Again and follow Jesus Christ.

  21. This will be the nail in the coffin for the Catholic Church.
And, until they allow priests to marry, the suppression of sexual urges will continue to make them prey on unsuspecting children.
If the Pope really means what he says, then he should stop this archaic practice of celibacy.

  22. I'm with you, Joseph. It is agonizing to think of this kind of thing happening, seemingly without any real consequences. But be assured there is 'a special place in hell' for these people.. the Bible says 'to whom much is given, much will be required' (Luke 12:48).

They will pay dearly-- and eternally.

Fortunately for us, the path to heaven is through Christ alone. We don't need 'absolution' or any type of forgiveness from man.. they can't give it anyway. Only God can, and He's always ready to give it and welcome us home.

Especially in these final, debauched days before His return, we do well to look beyond fallible and perverted men to Jesus, and to keep our eyes (and hearts) on Him alone. Him alone.

He WILL bring us through the fire to an eternity of bliss and peace with Him!

  23. The sins of the Catholic Church amass clear up to the heavens. The "one true religion?" Ha ha ha - NO WAY!!!!

  24. This really is not about religion. It's about institutions of power and the perversity of such power and morally corrupt individuals. You see it with doctors and coaches, scout leaders, teachers and politicians. Each institution turns a blind eye to it to keep the machine going. Look at Sandusky at Penn. State. Look at the Morman pervert Warren Jeffs. It happens in families and people get on with it as to not embarrass themselves and their social standing. This sort of predatory abject and anti social behavior did not fly when we were still apes.
The mothers would crush your skull with a rock or the Alpha male would run you off. All before Jesus and biblical shame and sin we had a natural order and an organic moral compass. The bible is full of folklore adopted from older religions and high holidays. King James himself was one of the most perverted people in history and Constantine was no devoted convert himself he just knew this new folkloric grass roots superstition was a wise political move. Human nature good and bad has really little to do with fantasy tales passed down the line from the power hungry and perverted institutions that brainwash tax and tithe simple beings.

  25. so sad. but why do you leave your faith and not hold those who commit these atrocities against Jesus's church accountable? I refuse to leave my church and I personally stopped giving to our diocesan appeal many years ago when they settled all their lawsuits. These evil men who pose as priests succeed when you let them run you off!
It's not a pedophile issue when over 80% of the cases involve homosexual men and teenage boys.
It's a homosexual problem and it needs to be rooted out and sent packing. But since the lavender mafia (Mccarrick/wuerl/maradiaga) were instrumental in getting this false prophet elected, i.e. changing church teaching, subjecting his own interpretations for Jesus's words. Acceptance of heresies.
Think we were warned about this somewhere!
    Gonna be a fun ride!
If you leave your church/faith because of them, then they (Satan) have won!

    3. One does not leave a Church.
One does however, leave a place where persons pretend to speak the Good News of Jesus Christ’s rising from the dead (His Deity), but do not believe in His Name.

He is the Christ - Savior of the whole world!
When we die, we will join Him in Heaven.

      Thank you

  26. Actually, this is about a church in Salisbury where this has happened. In fact, one poster has mentioned a local suicide because of it. How tragic and heartbreaking.

  27. Cradle Catholic here. The Catholic Church, and all religions for that point, consists of the 'faithful' and whatever form of leadership the religion has adopted. We are free to accept or deny any religion's teachings.

Catholic's believe they are the true strain of Jesus' teachings because of the direct link from the Apostles to the Catholic church and faith. Until the Reformation, basically all Christians were Catholic or Orthodox. Since then a wide variety of Christian religion 'flavors' have grown and spread.

So the issue here is not the faith, it is the wrong actions of a number of clergy, compounded by well-intentioned inaction by superiors, or worse, active actions by superiors without clean hands. Any religion or organization can face this type of problem.

Because we look to religion in general, and to Catholicism in particular, to be a spiritual guide in the rough business we call life, any failure, or in this case multiple failures, is particularly upsetting, as it should be. We expect clergy to 'walk the talk'. Their sins, if they take the teachings to heart, should weigh on them enormously.

IMHO, the answer is not to abandon your faith but to be more involved in ensuring that those selected to minister to you are truly worthy of their vocation. For Catholics, this should mean even more lay involvement in selecting, vetting and monitoring clergy during their careers.

Think it also worth noting, IIRC, this covers actions by around 300 clergy over about a 70 year span in a state with just under 13 million population. Pittsburgh, for example, used to be about 40% Catholic. So even one case is unacceptable but this isn't rampant.

In closing, think it worthwhile to remember that Jesus' work here on earth is accomplished by imperfect humans, in all religions. Some errors are small and inconsequential; others are large and require big time change. The Church needs to be pushing forward to restore confidence that religious leaders lives and actions withstand scrutiny on earth.

    Pax,

  28. this is a failure of leadership. Please do not insult the Lord's church or all the holy men and women who strive each day to do the Lords work with your insults. Francis and the leadership are failures and should resign immediately! All are part of the lavender mafia and doing satan's will!

  29. "I'm done with the Catholic Church."

It's not just the Catholic Church. All churches have child molesters, homos, pedophiles and adulterers.

Every church in Salisbury has experienced all of the above at least once. Don't you ever read the news? So do the schools? See a pattern here?

Guess what? Welcome to America, it's the society that has been created by Liberals!!

  30. Even Jesus had a Judas. The Catholic Church is still holy, not because of its people, but because it was founded by Christ Himself. We are to look to the Saints as examples of the church. Not Pope, Priests and sinners in the pews. Church needs to be transparent and the criminals belong in prison.
