This is about the same rate watermen are getting paid for their crabs now, however expenses have gone up 10X-20X and regulation has cut the catch in half or less. On top of it most places are buying from Singapore.
2018. INFLATION
Yeah... And your weekly paycheck... $125
I can remember my parents telling us "we can only go to Phillips once this time- it's too expensive "
My parents always took us to English Grill because Phillip's was so expensive.
Anyone know what year that is from?
I'm guessing 1972
8:59I sent this to Joe. I found it on facebook. However no one seemed to know an actual date for it. Sorry
1956 it opened in OC. I'm guessing the menu is from the mid 1960s
Now if on SNAP you can have Crabs whenever you want!
A new family sized car was $1500-$2500. A new house was $15,000. A gallon of milk was $.75. A haircut was $1.

Back then, the minimum wage was less than $2.00. Couldn't exactly eat like a king at Phillip's on that.
