Sarah Palin calls John McCain's comments a 'perpetual gut-punch'

Former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin says hearing that Sen. John McCain now regrets choosing her as his 2008 running mate is 'like a perpetual gut-punch' every time she hears about it.

And the latest verdict from the ailing 81-year-old Arizona Republican, she said, is perplexing because McCain has told her very different things over and over in person.

'That's not what Sen. McCain has told me all these years, as he's apologized to me repeatedly for the people who ran his campaign – some who now staff MSNBC, the newsroom there, which tells you a lot,' Palin said.

Hearing the opposite on TV, she said, was unnerving.

'It's not a real fun thing that part of my job is the requirement – is having to read the news every day,' Palin lamented.

The onetime Alaska governor spoke to DailyMail.com in Washington before headlining a fundraising event for a Trump-friendly political action committee.

  2. I don't care if he's sick or not because the truth is the truth. McCain is a bitter old SOB who all the bad he did for the country outweighs any good he's done. He's showing his true colors even as he is dying and that is he is a piss poor example of a human being. That he can't even show an ounce of dignity and decency in his dying days says he only cares about himself. He spent his career lying to the people and was beholden only to special interest. God will not have mercy on his soul for the scam of a life he led.

  3. He says whatever he wants then his daughter and wife are so offended when someone tells the truth about him! "Songbird John" the truth hurts. If I were President Trump I would encourage all to stay away from his funeral! McCain is a sad little person that thinks more of himself than people he could be representing. Sure he loves the salary and the health insurance coverage he has versus what we can get without having to forfeit a arm or leg.

  9. Not far behind McCain is Biden and his family who have milked the government system for years in return for personal benefit.

Biden's first wife was not killed by a drunk truck driver. She ran a stop sign. Further, Beau no longer had Several VA benefits when he died at Walter Reid. Joe Biden simply didn't want to pay anyone (Hopkins?) for treatment. Pretty sad.

  10. I regret voting for him, it was not for him but against his opposition.

  11. Nothing that McCain says can be considered dependable. His brain is being replaced by cancer cells.

  12. McCain has been loyal exclusively to and for himself in his civilian career. His illness hasn't caused or changed that. Governor Palin was the only bright spot in his quirky, poorly managed run for president. He's known that for a decade and it apparently bothers him in those rare moments when he chooses to look honestly at his life and choices.
