Rep. Steve King: If You're Not Responsible Enough to Own Gun Until 21, Don't Vote Until 21 Either
Rep. Steve King (R-IA) observed that teenagers who believe people are not responsible enough to own guns until the age of 21 ought to be willing to wait until 21 before they vote.
21 for beer, cigs and guns then 21 to sign up for military and to vote! If you are not responsible enough for the first three then you most certainly are not for the second two!
Yes, if to mentally underdeveloped to own guns at 21, than certainly too young to vote! The Lawmakers have said so on alcohol, they are too young to handle it.
Frankly we need to agree on a standard age for adulthood to legally begin.
If someone is old enough to sign a contract, join the military, get married and vote then they should be able to buy cigarettes, drink alcohol and purchase firearms, too.
Some will definitely make mistakes and poor choices, but that will happen anyhow regardless of what age we specify. Pretty silly to permit voting yet embargo many other adult decisions and consequences. Got to wean them sometime.
AMEN!!
ReplyDelete100% Correct.
ReplyDeleteyou can send them to war to kill at age 18 but they cant buy a beer or own a gun?

ReplyDeleteJust think about the crying and whining the Dems will do if we could get this passed!
