    I had a similar incident at Higgins Mill pond near Linkwood. I was fishing off the bridge and I saw a water snake swimming in the water near my feet. Out of fun, I took my fishing rod and swatted it. Instead of fleeing from me, it came out of the water and attacked me! I dropped my tackle and rod and ran like hell to my car. It follow me down the road!!! Luckily no one saw this!!! I came back later to resume my fishing. I was young and dumb, but I at least I know they will attack you if provoked!
