Country is king with Delaware State Fair concert lineup

HARRINGTON — A healthy dose of country, comedy and Christian and classic rock will greet Delaware State Fair concertgoers this summer.

Four country shows are scheduled for the fair, which officially runs July 20-29 but will, like last year, have a kickoff concert July 19 with emerging country stars Jon Pardi and Chris Lane.

Other country acts in the lineup are Darius Rucker on July 23, Rascal Flatts on July 25 and Brantley Gilbert with Luke Combs to wrap up the fair on July 29.

“We received feedback from our concertgoers last year that they wanted more country shows,” said Delaware State Fair Assistant General Manager Danny Aguilar.

The Left’s Alinsky Plan to Destroy the Trump Administration

When a former community organizer with little other experience became the Democratic Party nominee for president in 2008, conservatives began inquiring what, exactly, a “community organizer” does.

That led to a surge of interest in Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, a secular Bible among Barack Obama’s cohort of left-wing radicals in Chicago. In the White House, as aide Valerie Jarrett so memorably put it, Obama remained a community organizer, using his old tactics topush his agenda.

Now that they have been relegated to the opposition, Obama and the Democrats are not only using the same old Alinskyite tactics, but amplifying them through the media, who will never forgive President Donald Trump for winning the election. (Far from retiring quietly, Obama has been swift to criticize his successor and encourage left-wing protests against his policies.)

Here are just a few examples of Alinsky’s rules being put into practice in an effort to bring down the Trump administration.

Natural Resources Police Handle Fisheries and Wildlife Cases

Maryland Natural Resources Police officers made three fisheries cases, charged a deer poacher and cited a man for dumping and burning rubbish on state land in recent enforcement action.

Three Somerset County men were charged Sunday with multiple counts of illegal harvesting from state waters and falsifying records to hide their activity.
Paul Franklin Tyler III, 31, Mark Nelson Sneade, 39, and Rodney William Burke, 37, all of Crisfield, face prison time and thousands of dollars in fines on charges they harvested oysters without a license.
After a nearly two-month investigation, officers determined that all three men were selling oysters to Southern Connection Seafood in Crisfield, using the active harvest license numbers of other watermen on shellfish sales records.
Tyler III, who had his oyster harvesting privileges permanently revoked by the state in April, partnered with Sneade to take oysters at night from the Kitts Creek Oyster Sanctuary in Pocomoke Sound. Burke acted alone in making 12 illegal sales.
Tyler was charged with four counts of fishing while under revocation. Each count carries a maximum fine of $25,000.
He and Sneade also were charged with two counts each of: conspiracy to commit perjury, willfully making a false entry in a public record, oyster harvesting without a license, failing to pay the tidal fishing license surcharge, harvesting in an oyster sanctuary, harvesting oysters outside legal hours, having oysters aboard a vessel overnight, and failing to supply necessary information to the buyer. The cumulative maximum penalty is 13 years in prison and fines of $16,000.
Burke was charged with one count each of: conspiracy to commit perjury, willfully making a false entry in a public record, oyster harvesting without a license, failing to pay the tidal fishing license surcharge, and failing to supply necessary information to the buyer. The cumulative maximum penalty is 13 years in prison and $3,000 in fines.
Tyler and Sneade are scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday in Somerset County District Court. Burke, who was already in custody, was committed on a $15,000 bond. His trial is set for March 14 in Somerset County District Court.

ASSANGE BREAKS HIS SILENCE As WIKILEAKS REVEALS The REAL REASON FLYNN RESIGNED … IT’S A COUP!

THIS IS CLEARLY TREASON. THE DEEP STATE IS ATTEMPTING TO DO TO TRUMP WHAT THEY DID TO JFK. FIRST THEY ARE TRYING TO ASSASSINATE HIS CHARACTER AND THE CHARACTER OF HIS ALLIES, WE ALL KNOW WHAT COMES NEXT …

WikiLeaks and it’s founder Julian Assange courageously exposed massive coverups during the 2016 Presidential campaign.

Since President Donald J. Trump’s election, Julian Assange has avoided the spotlight. But now, the internet publication is speaking out about the resignation of Trump’s White House National Security Adviser.

WikiLeaks blamed the resignation on a “destabilization campaign” run in coordination with the Democrat Party and biased liberal media.

Clearly, WikiLeaks is suggesting that some American spies weren’t happy with Flynn, and decided to take him out:

Maryland Legislature addresses prescription drug cost

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —In Session 2017, the high cost of prescription drugs is an issue lawmakers in Annapolis are trying to address. Two bills are under consideration. One requires drug companies to disclose why the medicine costs so much. The other gives the state attorney general the power to go after price gouging.

Maryland is now ground zero in the battle over curbing the cost of prescription medication, and the fight is also taking place over the air waves.

There are dueling radio ads: one supporting legislation aimed at curbing the skyrocketing price of prescriptions, and the other is push back by the pharmaceutical industry.

Citizens Reminded to Lock Vehicles after Series of Vehicle Break-Ins

OCEAN CITY, MD – : The Ocean City Police Department is reminding residents and visitors to lock their vehicles after a series of vehicle break-ins throughout the resort. Since January 1, there have been 11 reported thefts from vehicles, most occurring in the area of 94th Street through 120th Street in the late night and early morning hours. All of the vehicles involved were left unlocked at the time of the incident.
Residents and visitors are reminded to always lock their vehicles and double-check that it is in fact locked. Often times, criminals will try vehicle doors until they find one that is unlocked. Citizens should also take the following steps to avoid becoming a victim:
  • Never leave valuables in a vehicle. If items are left in plain sight inside a vehicle, the chances of a vehicle break-in increase dramatically. This includes purses, electronics, loose change, etc.
  • Place items out of sight before reaching your destination. Criminals may be watching while you hide valuables under a seat or in the trunk.
  • Leave no trace of valuables in plain view. For example, remove items like suction cups used to hold GPS systems or phone chargers.
  • Ensure that alarms and anti-theft devices are working. These will act as deterrents and could decrease your chances of becoming a victim.
  • Never leave keys in your vehicle. Even if well hidden, an experienced criminal knows the best hiding places.
Citizens that believe they may be a victim of a vehicle break-in should call local police immediately and avoid rummaging through the vehicle prior to the arrival of police.

This Is How Smart Businesses Handled Hispanics Threatening To Not Show Up At Work Today

I guess we'll see who had the stones to let these employees on the Shore go tomorrow.

REPORT: Trump Draft Executive Order on Welfare Has Liberals FURIOUS

Ever see a dead cat in a tree? Me neither. When the cat gets hungry enough, it comes down on its own and finds a meal. Unless it’s in a Democrat tree. Then the food is sent up at each mealtime, permanently, until the fat kitty forgets what living on the ground and catching its own mice is like.

This analogy to our current liberal cradle-to-grave welfare mentality has not escaped President Donald Trump’s attention. Strict welfare limits are moving up the president’s priority list and not surprisingly, welfare to immigrants is a critical item on the agenda, according to BizPac Review.

A copy of a draft order reported by The Washington Post earlier this month (subscription required) and being circulated among cabinet members seeks to address what the order describes as a massive burden on the American taxpayer.

Poll: Hispanics back Trump deportations, ending 'sanctuary cities'

Hispanic voters support President Trump's new focus on deporting illegal immigrants with criminal records and punishing some 300 cities that grant "sanctuary" to undocumented criminals, according to a new poll.

The survey for Secure America Now found that 56 percent of Hispanic voters approve of deporting criminal illegals. Some 31 percent don't.

What's more, they back the president's executive order to end the Obama administration's "catch and release" policy at the border.

Over all in the McLaughlin and Associates survey, 69 percent of all voters back the president's plans.

Snowflake Loses Court Case Forcing Parents to Cough Up College Tuition

Another special snowflake melted over the weekend, all thanks to the harsh and unforgiving light of reality.

Caitlyn Ricci, now a 23-year-old college grad from New Jersey, became emancipated from her parents back in 2013 after having moved in with her grandparents. A year later, Ricci then sued her estranged parents in 2014 for $16,000 worth of college tuition while she attended Temple University, where she'd enrolled and attended without discussing it with her mom or dad.

She hadn’t talked to her folks in two years, but that didn’t stop her from taking them to court and trying to legally force them to cough up a pile of dough for her expensive, completely voluntary out-of-state school fees.

And apparently, a judge agreed. From ABC6 at the time:

A judge, turning to a New Jersey legal precedent known as 'Newburgh' that says divorced parents may be required to contribute to their children's education, no matter their age.

The judge ruled in Caitlyn's case her parents have to pay $16,000 this year.

"The law in New Jersey is so clear. It is cut and dry. The law says parents are supposed to contribute to their children's post-secondary expenses," said Rochester.

Final Days For Berlin Shoe Box On Main Street

BERLIN – In 1949, the help wanted sign outside Berlin’s shoe store caught the eye of Jesse Turner. The teenager was just out of high school and looking for a job. He wasted no time in approaching the shop owner.

“I came in and he said ‘what can you do’ and I said ‘what do you want me to do?” Turner recalls.

The proprietor hired the 17-year-old to shine shoes in the shop on Main Street. More than 60 years later, you’ll still find him there — at least for another two weeks.

On March 1, the popular Turner, now the owner of the Berlin Shore Box, will officially retire. His well-worn Main Street shop will be turned into a nail salon.

“I was going to retire in December of this year anyway,” said Turner, 86. “But they sold the building so I got an early retirement.”

Smart Call: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Has Been Dead On The Supreme Court Bench For 3 Months, But Democrats Are Febrezing Her Every Day In Hopes That No One Notices

If there’s anything this wild year in Washington has shown us, it’s that the traditional rules of politics no longer apply. After months of Republicans defying all the usual conventions of bureaucracy to win unprecedented power in government, it looks like the Democrats are finally responding in kind. According to sources, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been dead for over three months, but Democrats have been spraying Febreze on her every day in hopes that no one else notices she’s no longer alive.

Well played, Dems. Well played.

One of just four reliably liberal jurists on the court, Ginsburg is key to maintaining a bipartisan balance in federal law, and Democrats are showing that they won’t let her death diminish any of her influence over policy. Spritzing her corpse up real good with Febreze every morning and taping her eyes open in a lifelike expression, left-wingers from all over Washington have been pitching in to give the now-deceased justice the appearance of sentience so as not to forfeit her seat to a conservative appointment.

“She’s definitely got a stink to her, but we simply can’t afford to back down on this,” said a high-ranking Senate Democrat speaking on condition of anonymity. “It’s an unprecedented strategy, but as long as we keep masking Ruth with Febreze, we should be able to hang onto her seat.”

OCEAN CITY — The night sky over Ocean City will see a major change this summer after the Mayor and Council on Tuesday approved a special events package that includes the proposed 100 Nights of Lights series after an often terse discussion over expenses.

The proposed special event would feature a dozen large spotlights with filters of various colors lighting up the beach and Boardwalk and night sky in the resort. The proposed 100 Nights of Lights will feature 12 spotlights, each with 4,000-watt bulbs, in six displays. The displays will be featured six times a night, roughly every 20 minutes from 9-11 p.m.

Pentagon: US Ready To Blast North Korea’s New Missile Out Of The Sky

North Korea claims it has a new ballistic missile, but the Pentagon says it can and will take it out if it poses a threat.

When North Korea tested a new surface-to-surface medium-range ballistic missile Sunday, the U.S. Navy had two guided-missile destroyers stationed in the Sea of Japan to shoot the missile down if necessary. Both ships, the USS Stethem and USS McCampbell, are armed with the Aegis ballistic missile system, which can reportedly track up to 100 missiles at the same time and intercept enemy projectile weaponry when needed, according to CNN.

The Aegis system is used by Japan and South Korea as well. The former has six Aegis destroyers, while the latter has three.

“We maintain abilities to be able to respond quickly and intercept missiles from North Korea if they do pose a threat to us or our allies,” said Pentagon spokesman U.S. Navy Captain Jeff Davis. “We worked very quickly with our Japanese and South Korean allies to make sure that it did not pose a threat.”

Trump Slams 'Dishonest' Press for 'Tremendous Disservice' to the America People

Thursday at a press conference to announce his pick of Alexander Acosta for the vacant Secretary of Labor post, President Donald Trump ripped the “dishonest” press and suggested they intentionally being an obstacle to his effort to take the “entrenched power structure.”

Partial transcript as follows:

I’m here today to update the American people on the incredible progress that has been made in the last four weeks since my inauguration. We have made incredible progress. I don’t think there’s ever been a president elected who in this short period of time has done what we have done. A new Rasmussen poll in fact, the people – much of the media doesn’t get it. They actually get it but they don’t write it. A new Rasmussen poll just came out a very short while ago and it has our approval rating at 55 percent and going up. The stock market has hit record numbers as you know. And there has been a tremendous surge of optimism in the business world, which to me means something much different than it used to. The stock market has hit record numbers as you know. And there has been a tremendous surge of optimism in the business world, which to me means something much different than it used to. It used to mean oh, that’s good. Now it means that’s good for jobs – very different. Plants and factories are starting to move back into the United States and bigly Ford, General Motors, so many. I make this presentation directly to the American people with the media present, which is an honor to have you. This morning because many of our nation’s reporters and folks will not tell you the truth, and will not treat the wonderful people of our country with the respect that they deserve. And I hope going forward we can be a little bit, a little bit different and get along better if that’s possible. Maybe it’s not, and that’s OK too. Much of the media in Washington, D.C. and New York and Los Angeles, in particular, speaks not for the people but for the special interests and for those profiting off a very, very obviously broken system. The press has become so dishonest that if we don’t talk about it, we are doing a tremendous disservice to the American people, a tremendous disservice. We have to talk about it, to find out what’s going on because the press honestly is out of control. The level of dishonesty is out of control. I ran for president to represent the citizens of our country. I am here to change the broken system, so it serves their families and their communities well. I am talking and really am taking

Donald Trump Denounces ‘Un-American’ Intelligence Leaks to ‘Fake News’

President Donald Trump denounced reporting from the New York Times and the Washington Post that said his campaign was communicating with Russia.

“Information is being illegally given to the failing New York Times and Washington Post by the intelligence community,” he wrote on Twitter, suggesting that the NSA and the FBI might be responsible. “Just like Russia,” he added.

The New York Times cited law enforcement and intelligence agency sources that intercepted communications from people close to Trump during the presidential campaign with Russian intelligence.

“The real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by ‘intelligence’ like candy,” Trump wrote. “Very un-American!”

That news is leading coverage of the president on cable and network news stations, prompting Trump’s reaction on Twitter.

“The fake news media is going crazy with their conspiracy theories and blind hatred,” Trump wrote. “MSNBC and CNN are unwatchable. Fox and Friends is great!”

Maryland lawmakers expand AG powers due to Trump

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Fearful of President Donald Trump’s policies, the Maryland General Assembly has empowered the state’s Democratic attorney general to sue the federal government without permission from the state’s Republican governor.

The House of Delegates voted 89-50 along party lines on Wednesday for a joint resolution already approved by the Senate.

Democrats control Maryland’s legislature. They have noted worries about potential Affordable Care Act repeal as one reason for expanding the attorney general’s powers. Maryland’s attorney general has lacked the common law authority to sue the federal government on his own after a 1984 ruling by the state’s highest court.

Republicans contend the resolution upsets checks and balances outlined in Maryland’s constitution, but Democrats say more than 40 other attorneys general have the authority to sue on their own.

Judicial Watch: Docs Prove Obama State Dept. Knew Benghazi Attack Was Serious

Conservative watchdog Judicial Watch released 54 pages of State Department documents Tuesday it said showed a former official admitting the deadly 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack was a "direct breaching attack" and not "under cover of protest."

"This document removes any further doubt that the State Department and the Obama administration knew immediately after the assault on Benghazi that it was a well-orchestrated terrorist attack and not a 'spontaneous demonstration' over a 'hateful video,' as the Obama administration repeatedly claimed," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.

"These documents show that the Benghazi scandal is not over . . . not by a long shot."

Fake News: NYT Accuses, then Exonerates Trump Aides in Russia Claims

The New York Times published a story Tuesday evening claiming anonymous “aides” on President Donald Trump’s campaign had contact with Russian intelligence, citing classified information supplied by “four current and former American officials.”

Oddly, the Times reports that these officials concluded that there was “no evidence” they had seen that the “Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.” So there would seem to be no story.

However, the anonymous officials were reportedly alarmed by the “amount of contact that was occurring while Mr. Trump was speaking glowingly about the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin.” The Times does not report who initiated the contact.

The Times misreports at least one key piece of evidence. It claims: “At one point last summer, Mr. Trump said at a campaign event that he hoped Russian intelligence services had stolen Hillary Clinton’s emails and would make them public.”

That is not true: the “campaign event” was a press conference, and Trump’s comment was clearly a joke, as Breitbart News reported at the time — though that did not stop the media and the Hillary Clinton campaign from trying to make it a campaign issue.

Politico, however, seemingly failed to do even the most minimal research on the Indivisible leaders cited in the news outlet’s own profile. Some of those personalities are openly associated with groups financed by Soros.

Politico further failed to note that the organizations cited in its article as helping to amplify Indivisible’s message are either financed directly by Soros or have close ties to groups funded by the billionaire.

“Inside the protest movement that has Republicans reeling,” was the title of the Politico profile.

Law allows Trump to refuse visas to ‘uncooperative’ countries that won’t take back deportees

Even if President Trump can’t convince the courts to approve his extreme vetting executive order, he may have another tool at his disposal that would allow him to strip visas from some of the seven countries he’s trying to target, crackdown supporters say.

A federal law says the government can stop issuing visas to countries that are deemed “uncooperative” because they refuse to take back their citizens when the U.S. tries to deport them. At least five of the seven countries Mr. Trump is targeting — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia and Sudan — are already on that list, according to new data obtained by the Immigration Reform Law Institute.

All Mr. Trump would have to do is have his Homeland Security Department secretary issue an official notification about those countries, and the State Department would immediately halt visas, IRLA says.

“Each of these countries either cannot or are unwilling to take back their citizens, all of whom have either violated our immigration laws or committed crimes against our own. For that reason alone, the Trump administration can and should put a complete halt to their visa privileges. In fact, the law requires it,” said Ian Smith, investigative associate at the IRLA.

Both the Bush and Obama administrations have used the tool before, but never on more than one country, and not as part of a crackdown on potential terrorism.

Honest To God, It's Snowing In Ocean City

Not once did WBOC say anything about flurries today but I can tell you first hand it is snowing right now in West Ocean City. Unbelievable!

Optimism Over OC Seasonal Cop Recruitment

OCEAN CITY – Officials with the Ocean City Police Department continue to address the seasonal officer recruitment shortage facing the town, citing weather as a main reason many candidates failed to attend recent testing dates.

In a Police Commission meeting Monday, Police Chief Ross Buzzuro told committee members that inclement weather – including the recent storm that left nearly a foot of snow in its wake – hindered many seasonal police candidates from attending testing opportunities, but added that he holds hope for this season’s last examination on Saturday and Sunday.

“I believe the weather is going to be mild this upcoming weekend,” Buzzuro said. “So we should be pretty good.”

Although the department is behind by 14 percent in the recruitment process, Buzzuro said the quality of candidates surpasses the quantity.

“The applicants that are moving through the applicant process seem to be more qualified and we are moving toward hiring what seems like more than last year at this time,” Buzzuro said.

Lake: ‘Permanent State’ Destroyed Mike Flynn ‘from the Cloak of Anonymity’

Eli Lake writes in Bloomberg View that the leaks leading to the resignation of National Security Advisor Mike Flynn are an alarming, weaponized use of “tightly held government secrets.” He likens the intelligence community’s actions to that of a police state:

"The point here is that for a White House that has such a casual and opportunistic relationship with the truth, it’s strange that Flynn’s “lie” to Pence would get him fired. It doesn’t add up.

"It’s not even clear that Flynn lied. He says in his resignation letter that he did not deliberately leave out elements of his conversations with Ambassador Sergey Kislyak when he recounted them to Vice President Mike Pence. The New York Times and Washington Post reported that the transcript of the phone call reviewed over the weekend by the White House could be read different ways. One White House official with knowledge of the conversations told me that the Russian ambassador raised the sanctions to Flynn and that Flynn responded that the Trump team would be taking office in a few weeks and would review Russia policy and sanctions. That’s neither illegal nor improper.

"There is another component to this story as well — as Trump himself just tweeted. It’s very rare that reporters are ever told about government-monitored communications of U.S. citizens, let alone senior U.S. officials.."

WHOA! WaPo Fact Check Admits 33 Terrorists Came From 7 Countries On Trump's Ban

How do you get the Washington Post to admit something it would never want to admit? Moreover, how do you get the serial-lying Washington Post Fact Checker -- the single most dishonest group of people I have ever personally dealt with -- to admit to something they would never-ever under any circumstance want to admit? Well, as is almost always the case with our Fake News Media, if a truth is told, you will find it buried deep beneath a misleading headline.

Case in point…

The left-wing Washington Post's rabidly dishonest fact checker just admitted, in writing, that at least 33 convicted terrorists made their way into America from the 7 countries listed on President Trump's executive order, an order that temporarily bans immigrants and refugees.

Imagine the Washington Post admitting something like that!

It's like a miracle!

Especially after the lawless 9th Circuit Court attempted to justify its lawless order blocking Trump's executive order with the now-debunked claim that, "The government has pointed to no evidence... that any alien from any of the countries named in the order has perpetrated a terrorist attack in the United States."

Anti-Trump Protesters To Begin Soliciting Tax-Deductible Donations Photo of Peter Hasson PETER HASSON

One of the leading anti-Trump protest groups will soon begin soliciting tax-deductible donations to help activists “resist” the Trump agenda.

The leaders of Indivisible, an activist organization responsible for interrupting Republican town halls across the country, are launching a non-profit in order to help fund their efforts, the group recently announced on its website.

The anti-Trump organization is already soliciting donations through liberal fundraising website ActBlue, although those donations are not deductible as charitable contributions. Launching a non-profit, the activists say, will allow them “to provide shared tools to help groups organize events, communicate with each other, and share best practices and resources.”

What the group refers to as “events” are oftentimes anti-Republican protests.

Judge Paula Price Turns Down Governor Hogan

All media sources had announced Governor Hogan selecting District Court Judge Paula Price to become the new Circuit Court Judge in Somerset County.

However, they never followed up on the fact that the Honorable Judge Price turned down the Governors appointment.

Sources told me that the key reason she turned it down was because other Judges told her since she's a "come here" she will not get re elected to the position in the next election.

You just have to love the Good Ol' Boy system here on the Shore. Can you say, bullies?

If you want to hold a Woman's March, THIS IS A GOOD REASON!

Gay Journalist Says Intolerant Liberals Drove Him to Become a Conservative

Chadwick Moore, a gay journalist who contributes to the New York Post and OUT Magazine, told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday that the "paranoia" and "mean-spiritedness" of liberals drove him to become a conservative.

Moore penned an article for the Post on Saturday, in which he came out as a conservative and explained why he switched parties. Moore received backlash last September after he wrote a profile piece of Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos in OUT Magazine.

"The part that jumped out at me immediately was the fact that after doing this profile, which you described is pretty straightforward, not for Milo or against but kind of telling who he is, that one of your best friends disowned you as a friend," Carlson said.

Moore said that this is a common story, similar to how Clinton supporters often disassociated themselves with Trump supporters.

"When I even said that I voted for Hillary Clinton, so many people were like, ‘Oh you did? I just assumed you were a Trump supporter.' Why would you assume that?" Moore said. "The profile was extremely balanced and I treated him no differently than I would have treated anyone else."

Carlson asked Moore to describe how he saw the liberal community through a "new lens" after receiving widespread backlash for his Yiannopoulos profile.

How sex education in Md. could change

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland public schools could see an addition to sex-education classes if some state lawmakers get their way: They want students to be taught the concept of “affirmative consent.”

That’s the idea that two people should be in clear, voluntary agreement before engaging in a sex act.

Del. MaricĂ© Morales, D-Montgomery County, is one of the sponsors of a bill that went before Maryland’s House Ways and Means Committee Tuesday. The bill would allow affirmative consent to be added to seventh and 10th grade sex-ed courses in Montgomery County Public Schools.

She said another bill is in the works that would take the concept to all Maryland public schools and allow other districts the freedom to decide in which grade the concept would be introduced.

After Likening Trump to Hitler, Journalists Upset They're Not Getting Called on for Questions

Members of the mainstream media were left fuming this afternoon after President Trump refused to call on any of their organizations for the third straight press conference.

Yet many of these same news organizations have likened Trump to the Taliban and Adolf Hitler, floated false rumors about his use of a Russian prostitute, and accused his administration of being pro-slavery.

After Trump avoided calling on MSNBC during today's presser with Benjamin Netanyahu, MSNBC’s Peter Alexander complained that the conservative journalists he did call on didn’t ask “real questions” like he would have.

“What was striking," Alexander said, was that "President Trump, again, called on a series of more conservative leaning news organizations which didn’t allow for any real questions, trying to zero in on this issue of Mike Flynn, the now former national security advisor."

We can't speak for Trump, but one reason he may not be in a rush to give MSNBC more airtime is that they seem intent on using it to liken him to Adolf Hitler.

On Trump's Inauguration Day, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow likened Trump's election to "Hitler's rise." Her colleague Chris Matthews described Trump's inaugural address as "Hitlerian." Matthews also mocked Trump's family, likening them to the Russian imperial family, the Romanovs. He's so fond of this metaphor he now uses it all the time.

CNN reporters were likewise angry at not being called on during today's Trump presser.

"In the last three news conferences, Wolf, all of the questions to the American news media have been handled by conservative press, and I think, Wolf, there’s no other way to describe it but the fix is in," CNN's Jim Acosta vented during a post-press conference interview with Wolf Blitzer.

Obama’s Shadow Presidency

Former President Obama is waging war against the Trump administration through his generously funded agitation outfit, Organizing for Action, to defend his monumentally destructive record of failure and violent polarization.

It is a chilling reminder that the increasingly aggressive, in-your-face Left in this country is on the march.

Acclaimed author Paul Sperry writes in the New York Post:

Obama has an army of agitators — numbering more than 30,000 — who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency. And Obama will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.

In what’s shaping up to be a highly unusual post-presidency, Obama isn’t just staying behind in Washington. He’s working behind the scenes to set up what will effectively be a shadow government to not only protect his threatened legacy, but to sabotage the incoming administration and its popular “America First” agenda.

What is Organizing for Action? It is a less violent version of Mussolini's black shirts and Hitler's brown shirts, or of the government-supported goon squads that Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Cuba's Castro brothers used to harass and intimidate their domestic opponents.

OfA isn't, strictly speaking, a new group. After the 2008 election, the group, then known as Organizing for America, was a phony grassroots campaign run by the Democratic National Committee that sought to replicate the community organizing techniques Obama learned from the teachings of his fellow Chicagoan, Saul Alinsky. OfA was created in large part because the White House could not legally use the 13 million e-mail addresses that the Obama campaign compiled in 2008.

March 8th, Women's Strike Abandoning "Domestic Duties"

I have polled many women referencing this event from all sides of the political isle and guess what, none of the women I spoke with will be participating.

So that begs the question, will women here on the Shore actually participate with this upcoming event on a Wednesday, the 8th of March and actually take off work, (for those women who work, respectfully)?

The Real Story is the Hit Job on Mike Flynn

Obama officials and the establishment media continue to wave the scalp of resigned National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, trying to squeeze every last drop of anti-Trump narrative from the matter.

As I had said privately, Flynn was not long for remaining as NSA. It's not because he's a bad guy, and accusations that he was compromised by Russian intelligence are as absurd as the Trump dossier BuzzFeed published last month. It's just that Flynn wasn't ready for prime time; hopefully his replacement will be.

So here's the latest.

The New York Times published a report last night claiming "Trump associates" had repeated contacts with Russian intelligence, which other media outlets breathlessly hyped:

Lawsuit Claims Walmart’s Private Label Craft Beer Is “Wholesale Fiction”

It can be hard to tell if that craft beer on the grocery shelf comes from the vats of a small, independent brewer, or if it is the product of a commercial vat. That’s the crux of a new class-action seeking lawsuit that claims Walmart is deceiving consumers with its private label “craft” beer brands in an effort to inflate prices.

A beer drinker’s lawsuit [PDF] filed in the Hamilton Count, OH court of Common Pleas claims that calling the beverages — made in collaboration with Trouble Brewing under the names Cat’s Away IPA, After Party Pale Ale, Round Midnight Belgian White, and Red Flag Amber — craft beer is a “wholesale fiction,” because they’re actually mass-produced.

According to the complaint, Trouble Brewing “doesn’t really exist,” echoing a recent Washington Post article that pointed out the applicant listed on filings with the Treasury Department’s Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) is ‘Winery Exchange Inc.’, which has since turned into WX Brands.

Decades-Old Drug Approved By FDA, Gets 7,300% Price Hike

Last week, the Food and Drug Administration announced that a drug previously not officially available to patients in the United States had been approved. Deflazacort, a corticosteroid, has been shown to be useful and life-prolonging for patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a rare and fatal disease. Its U.S. launch has been delayed, however, after lawmakers questioned the dramatic price hike that came with its debut here.

How much of a price increase? That depends on who you ask. The drug will be marketed under the name Emflaza, and its sticker price will be $89,000 for a year’s worth of pills. The CEO of Marathon Pharmaceuticals, the company marketing the drug, said that the typical cost per patient after discounts and insurance rebates would be $54,000 per year.

The Wall Street Journal reports that families currently pay an average of $1,200 to import deflazacort from countries where it’s available. The price varies: One mother reports paying $800 to $1,000, and other families pay up to $1,600.

Utah teen gives chocolates to all 537 girls in school on Valentine's Day

A Utah teen devised a Valentine's Day plan to gift every girl in his school a sweet reminder that they are "special and unique."

Tryston Brown, 14, was first inspired a couple of weeks ago when thinking up what he could do to boost his female friend's experiences on the special holiday, his mother, Anissa Brown, told ABC News.

From there, his plan transformed into a grand plot to ensure every girl in his junior high school felt loved on Valentine's Day.

"It became more and more about him not wanting to leave anyone out," Brown said.

The two have had "numerous conversations" on what a difficult time junior high is for teen girls, especially with the unrealistic body expectations that can be promoted on social media, Brown said. Tryston, who has had struggled with depression in the past, has recently been researching the mental health condition and noticed these issues, she added.

Nearly Impossible To Get Fired At The IRS For Tax Evasion

More than 99 percent of the thousands of IRS employees investigated for violating federal tax laws in the last five years avoided termination and continued enforcing other Americans’ tax collections, according to an analysis by The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group.

The IRS fired only 74 of 9,176 workers investigated for tax noncompliance from October 2011 to September 2016. Another 280 were allowed to retire or resign as a result of those misconduct investigations, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) Inspector General (IG).

Noncompliance cases — which may involve underreporting income, underpaying taxes or failing to file returns — most commonly resulted in some form of verbal or written reprimand or counseling, according to the 10 semi-annual IG reports analyzed. The IRS employed about 85,000 people at 500 offices across the country in 2016.

House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform (HOGR) Chairman Rep. Jason Chaffetz and the panel’s Ranking Minority Member Rep. Elijah Cummings did not respond to TheDCNF’s requests for comment. Chaffetz is a Utah Republican, while Cummings is a Maryland Democrat.

NASA Looks to Speed Timetable for Putting Astronauts in Deep Space

In the first public inkling of the Trump administration’s aspirations for space exploration, NASA announced on Wednesday that it wanted to consider taking astronauts on the first flight of its new heavy-lift rocket. That type of notable mission could speed up a return to the moon.

Robert M. Lightfoot Jr., the acting NASA administrator, said the agency was studying what it would take to add a crew to the first flight of the Space Launch System, a mammoth rocket under development for deep space missions.

Under current plans, the first launch was scheduled for late 2018 and did not include a crew for testing the systems aboard the rocket and the capsule, named Orion.

That would have been followed by a gap of several years before a second flight, with astronauts, that would have taken off no earlier than 2021.

Brady: Koskinen The 'Most Corrupt' IRS Commissioner I’ve Worked With

House Committee on Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady said he would like to see IRS Commissioner John Koskinen removed from his post Monday.

Koskinen has long been taking heat from Republicans, who have slammed the commissioner for allegedly defying congressional subpoenas and preservation orders by allowing the IRS to destroy 422 backup tapes belonging to agency official Lois Lerner during the investigation into the agency’s targeting scandal.

“Frankly in my view the most corrupt IRS commissioner that I’ve ever dealt with continues in my view to mislead Congress,” Brady told reporters. “And until he’s removed I don’t think the IRS will ever regain it’s credibility.”

The Texas Republican said in addition to Koskinen attempting to mislead the American public, the IRS has failed to improve its customer service, giving congressional Republicans even more of an incentive to revamp the agency. The House GOP’s “A Better Way” agenda calls for a complete overhaul of the agency, which would create more transparency and make it more user-friendly.
