Court Of Appeals Allows President’s Travel Restrictions To Go Into Effect

A U.S. Court of Appeals in California is allowing President Trump’s travel restrictions to partially take effect.

The Ninth Circuit Court’s ruling allows the government to restrict entry of people from six terror-prone countries as long as those people don’t have any connections to the U.S.

The president’s latest travel restrictions were announced on September 24, and replaced two previous versions blocked by federal courts.

The ruling comes after President Trump demanded stricter vetting following the New York City terrorist attack in late October.

“What we are demanding is merit based immigration,” President Trump stated. “We want people that are going to help our country, we want people that are going to keep our country safe…We don’t want lottery’s where the wrong people are in the lottery and guess what? Who are the suckers that get those people? We want a merit based system.”
