DOVER — Department of Correction officials say nine workers at Delaware’s maximum-security prison have been suspended after an incident involving an inmate being taken from his housing unit to the infirmary.
A DOC spokeswoman said Thursday that officials are conducting an investigation to determine whether a violation of department policies or procedures occurred as the inmate was being taken to the infirmary for a medical inspection. She provided no details about the incident.
The nine staff members assigned to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center were placed on administrative leave.
