Maya Rockeymoore, wife of Rep. Elijah Cummings, considering run for Maryland governor

Maya Rockeymoore, the head of a public policy firm in Washington who is married to Democratic U.S. Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, says she is considering a run for Maryland governor.

“I’m seriously looking at this race because I have a bold vision for a better, stronger Maryland,” Rockeymoore said in a statement issued to The Baltimore Sun Tuesday afternoon. “As a proud progressive who has dedicated my adult life to advancing the well being of kids, families, communities, and the environment, I firmly believe that Maryland is ready for a different kind of leader, one who can offer real solutions, forge a path toward inclusive growth, and stand up to Trump’s regressive agenda.”

Rockeymoore, who holds a doctoral degree in political science, is president of Global Policy Solutions, which is described as “a social change strategy firm dedicated to making policy work for people and their environments.”

  2. I don't see where he could do worse. I don't see either where he could do ANYTHING for the voters.

  3. This would be a person I would not vote for. I have never met her, but I can assume with all that book learnin' and fancy titles bestowed on her by them's higher learnin' gang, my brain would hurt listening to the rubbish falling out her mouth.

  13. Don't laugh too fast - dem Dems are just crooked enough to put her in Office, and she will get the black and snowflake women votes if she plays her cards right -

A God awful thought - Black Woman Governor with a background of "dedication to making policy work for people and their environments.” (Maryland's priority need) and old Elijah as our First Man of Maryland - My My My sure can't get any better than that. As 6:38 said OOOOOO MYYYYYY GODDDDDD

Haha, that's funny, bashing the current sitting President. I bet Trump has accomplished more in 5 months for betterment of America, than her hubby Cummings did in his entire political career for citizens of Maryland.

Not sure who you are referring to, 6:46 didn't make sense, and neither does your comment.

After 8 years of criminal Democrats, Larry Hogan is a Saint and is doing a much better job. The only thing I see Larry Hogan doing wrong is dumping millions in Baltimore City. I know they are for suck up votes, but Baltimore City isn't going to vote for a Republican, only blacks Dems or Democrats will get their votes.

  30. Never heard of this female before and sure as heck would not vote for her, especially with the company she keeps. But, on the bright side, she does have enough smarts to not ruin her family name by taking on the name her spouse goes by.
Although she isn't too smart because she wants to stand up to President Donald J. Trump's regressive agenda. What ever that means.

  31. I hope she does run. The Democratic race needs a punch line!

  32. Kudos for her tenacity in earning advanced degrees. Political Science? Okay, so she knows how to debate, the three branches of government, and how government works. Does she understand what makes an economy tick? Has she EVER had to meet a payroll? Has she ever had to make sure employees are taken care of with benefits and still make a decent "bottom line" after overhead? Does she understand industry and competition? Does she know how to mend cultural differences and improve the plight of the inner city? I think not to all of the above. She is married to a hard core left wing liberal who refuses to work with conservatives and looked at the Benghazi hearings and the IRS debacle as circus side shows. How will she/could she be impartial? Voters, these are the issues.

  33. She can't even commit to marriage enough to take her husband's last name.

How "committed" do you think she would be to the Citizens of Maryland?

Or, would she just be there to fill her own pockets, much like her reasons she's married to her #1 money sucking hubby?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wonder if her husband is still evading paying his taxes. Will this be his way out or more corruption for the state of Maryland?

    ReplyDelete
  35. So I imagine she is going to point out how her company has turned Baltimore into a first class model city. Because of her, law abiding and hard working people are lined up for miles to buy one of the 18,000o abandoned crack houses that have made Baltimore famous.

She can tell everyone how she eliminated murder, rape, robbery and poverty in Baltimore.
    Your go girl!!!!
