Gov. Larry Hogan calls for state investigation into alleged corruption in PGCPS.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is calling for a "complete, thorough, and exhaustive investigation" into allegations of fraud and corruption in Prince George's County Schools.

On Sunday, Gov. Hogan sent a letter to the president of the Maryland State Board of Education saying he is "deeply troubled by these allegations regarding one of our school systems, which have now been brought to my attention by multiple sources."

FOX 5 was first to report on allegations of grade changing and manipulation of student records to boost the graduation rate in Prince George's County schools.

  1. I'd like to know WHO will do the investigating. With their $2BILLION budget, they can hire the FBI!

  2. About time.....that school system went into the crapper back in 1973 when "busing" went into effect. It's been on the decline ever since.

  4. It should have been one of the first things he did as governor, along with every other public office, official and function in PG County, where crime is rife and our tax dollars disappear at an alarming rate with nothing to show for them.

  5. Get to the bottom of it is the most important thing here. Not that Larry asked for it. Something doesn't smell right and its best to get a review.

Now, with those who have issues with this - what are you nervous about??? Remember its ALL about the children!!!!!!

If something was done incorrectly - THEN those involved pay for it with their jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I lived in PG county. I can pretty much guarantee they are "manipulating" the records.
By manipulating, I mean RAISING THE GRADES.
Outside of the DC area, it's called cheating. Lying, too.
In the private sector, you lose your job and any pension or 401(k) money.
PG County used to be one of the jewels of the state.
It's a crime ridden dump now with stupid kids ready to prey upon the neighborhoods.
    Keep cheering. we
