SU Student Wins 100k On Ellen Show

Today, Ellen asked Daquan Mincy to come and spin “Ellen’s Wheel of Riches” for a chance to win a prize!

Daquan is a full-time grad student at Salisbury University and is getting his Masters in Education. Not only is he a full-time student, he also works part-time as a special education teacher and grad assistant.

Daquan comes from a single-parent household and is the first person in his family to go to college. He strives to be a positive role model for disadvantaged youth and help them go to college.

  3. Why can't you local morons be happy for others in the area who have a good fortune? Are you all really that petty and jealous? Such immaturity. Some commenters should be a shamed of themselves

  4. This is a prime example of why this area is doomed. No appreciation for education or the good deeds of others.

  5. I don't like the Ellen Show one bit, but no matter. Glad a local guy was lucky enough to win and that he's already on such a good trajectory with school, work and volunteerism.

  8. I think it's a conversation that needs to be had. Why hasn't a white MALE won ANYTHING on the show?? Ellen makes 75 million a year plus bonus net of 300 million. Obviously I'm happy for the person that won so let's not demonize my comment but unpack the BIGGER issue?! Is Ellen show systemically RACIST white males?

  12. $100K - hmmm, not quite. Uncle SAMMY needs his share...say 40%...does the STATE want their share???? Okay, 10%

    Down to $50K. Hmmm...
$50K divided by 12 months = lets say roughly $4200 per month.

    $4200 divided by 30 days = $140 a day....

    $140 a day divided by 8 hrs = $17.50

There you go...$17.50 and what will minimum wage be shortly?????

Congrats Daquan, any amount received after taxes please be wise with it!
