New Owner Of Gander Mountain Releases Updated List Of 63 Stores Staying Open

Outdoors and hunting store Gander Mountain found a new owner after filing for bankruptcy in March, and what remains of the brand will become part of the Camping World chain of RV dealerships and camping supply stores. It’s a messy, painful process and the list of which Gander Mountain locations will remain open continues to change, based on the latest list released by the company’s new owners.

Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis originally estimated that he would keep open between 17 and 70 stores, and the tally as of right now is 63 stores, with more leases reportedly under negotiation. Some stores on the original re-opening list have been removed, notably the Palm Beach, FL location, where Lemonis says that the city will not allow Camping World to sell RVs.

  2. I can't imagine that too many loyal customers will be driving from the Shore to Pennsylvania or Virginia.

  3. No surprise SBY is not on the list. Just not enough traffic. Maybe they can convert the property to a Cracker Barrel.

    1. I guess I'm in the minority. I just don't understand the ridiculous desire, of so many people, to have a Cracker Barrel in Salisbury. The food just isn't that good. What we really need is a GOOD seafood restaurant. Think about it, we are in the heart of seafood country and the only place to get a crabcake is Brew River and theirs aren't very good at all. I've resorted to going to West Salisbury Little League to get a crabcake. At least they have great flavor!! Don't even mention Red Lobster. That isn't REAL seafood.

  4. First they sold Artic Cat, had a loyal following, got rid of atv's because they couldn't make anything off of them. Then push their prices up 30 percent over retail and put them on sale for 10 percent. They did it to themselves, greedy company trying to compete with Bass Pro and Cabelas at the tax payers expense.

  6. Shorebillies have always thought that if they get the same chain restaurants as the rest of the country that they are on the map. Just like Krispy Kreme. The best crabcakes are made in your own kitchen.

  8. Not privy to any details but...lots of parking, fronts on busy highway, our climate is good and we're all crazy about the outdoors. Time will tell.
