Camping World Buys What’s Left Of Bankrupt Gander Mountain

Big-box sporting goods chain Gander Mountain has a new owner, and it’s not competitor Sportsman’s Paradise, as anticipated. Instead, the recreational vehicle dealer chain Camping World won the bidding, teaming up with liquidators Tiger Capital, Hilco, Great American Group, and Gordon Brothers to buy the brand, its stores, and its inventory.

  1. My children, this is a sad reminder of the Obama legacy. Look at what his reptilian puppet masters Did! Clearly his surrogate, Hillary, has something to do with this as she shared an updated brain chip. Heed the words no more liberal mind- controlled zombies of the alien reptiles!

  2. The reign of obama (hitler) will have effects for many years , Trump will accomplish a turnaround in his first term. So many problems to repair.

  3. No fan of Obama but I think he helped Gander Mountain with gun sales. I know I purchased one 8 years ago. SBY store was loaded with freshwater fishing equipment and little saltwater equipment. Most locals fish the bay and the ocean not bass. Poor selection, high prices, apparel available everywhere recipe for bankruptcy.

  5. Gander mountain has plenty of fishing equipment for us to go and fish for Walleye and Salmon in the Chesapeake bay.

  6. In a statement, Camping World chief operating officer Brent Moody laid out the company’s plan for its new stores. Camping World will “immediately right size the inventory and operate only in retail locations with occupancy costs that we believe support profitable operations.”

So basically Salisbury won't be getting one.

  11. My children, Obama's brain chip has gone haywire. Watch for liberalism to run rampant in the coming weeks even more so now that Trumlidm is winning.

  12. You did not hurt my feeling however it is evident that you have mental issues that should to be addressed. You are prime example of the problem with closing the mental hospitals and allowing the mentally ill to roam free.

  13. Camping world is only buying a few locations and closing out the rest. You have to read beyond the headline.

  16. I don't know about the Salisbury store closing ASAP, but I do know that their "going out of business" sale this past weekend really cleaned off their shelves for the discounted items. 10-15% off last weekend and when they go to the 50% off sale, it will clean them out. Maybe they'll sell the building to Outdoor World. Salisbury HAS TO HAVE a camp/fish/hunt store. WalMart and Dick's just don't cut it.
