Md. Dems want Hogan to speak out against Trump policies

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Maryland Democratic lawmakers attacked Gov. Larry Hogan on Monday for not speaking out against President Donald Trump’s policy proposals involving the budget, health care and federal workers, which state officials said could have devastating effects on state residents.

More than a dozen people — led by Maryland House Majority Leader Del. Bill Frick and state Sen. Rich Madaleno — called for the Republican governor to take a position against the president.

They focused mostly on two issues: Republican attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and Trump’s proposed budget, which Hogan’s office has said would be scrutinized more carefully should any of the president’s proposals ever become law.

Both Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill have said the president’s budget blueprint has no chance of passing the Congress. But the proposals still have state officials worried.

  1. MD dems should be ashamed and hiding their faces after the Rockville High incident and then the state house voting to be a sanctuary state after the incident. Democrats are classless, clueless, and conscienceless. They really are mentally ill.

  2. I see children with awful temper tantrums right now. Embarrassing as a whole, sad as a nation, laughing stock from the world's eyes.

    When will it stop?

  3. The democrats can suck on a rock at the bottom of the bay after they voted for a sanctuary state.

  4. Hogan's done, if he does what they ask. He actually should JOIN Trump in condemning sanctuary cities and states. That might go a long way in ensuring a second term for Hogan. I doubt that even the Baltimore voters support the sanctuary stat

  5. Absolutely not! Respect the office of the President! I am sick of I'll-mannered, disrespectful, intolerant, people. All legislators should take a time out over their sorely needed spring break and reassess what their responsibilities are; and to whom they are responsible...that being the PEOPLE!!

  7. This is what happens when you fall for the left's traps. Back in the fall when Hogan was asked by reporters if he was supporting Trump he should not have said "NO". I do not care if he was or not. His response should have been, "It is not your business who I vote for".

Now they know he is weak and can be played.

Don't limit your criticism to just the Dems. The Republicans are looking pretty dysfunctional in Congress right now. Even with the majority, they are too busy fighting each other to pass any legislation.

  9. I think he should really chose a side on this sanctuary debate. I for one would really like to know where he stands.

He has said he will veto it.

  11. Just like his vote he is damned either way. While I would love to see him side with Trump for a change, he would be wiser to stick with no comment.

No way. On contrary he should remind all of the Maryland Democrats that by passing the bill of becoming Sanctuary State, is considered breaking the Federal Law. By doing so, those Democ-rats who Voted For this Anti-American bill will be arrested by federal agents and charged. Their vacant seats will be filled by new delegates, who actually represent Maryland Taxpayers. And I, Larry Hogan, as the Governor of State of Maryland, approve this message!
    And Make Maryland Great Again!

  13. Hogans problem is he is a cryptorchid.

Since he came down as a NeverTrumper, he lost all respectability and my vote.

This is an opportunity for Governor Hogan to stand up to those Crooked Maryland Democrats and say: "I've had enough"
Enough of Raising Taxes on Maryland Taxpayers
    Enough of Sanctuary Cities
Enough of Bending Backwards to Demo rats in Montgomery and Prince George's counties
Enough of Aopeasments for Democrats of Baltimore City
Enough to those who think 3 counties will rule over other 20 counties in Maryland.
When he stands up to them, and by God, I wish he does, then, I will support him.

  15. They are upset and scared that Obamacare will be repealed and there illegal friends will not be able to get free medical care and move out of MD. They are showing their ignorance in destroying MD worst than what they have already done.

  16. Once upon a time friends and quintessence were able to have conversation without incident. Today, it is no wonder heads meet. It is getting to the point where I don't even fool with some democrats because they are so far out there. I'm guessing this began approximately 2008. There may have be something put in their water or you can maybe figure what happen or occurred that year. There was a song out that most recall "The Day The Music Died", a country singer would hit the jackpot with a song reference 2008....

  17. President Trump just now on TV stated he wanted to keep us safe from the bad eggs, murders, gang members, known rapists etc. Not a quote but similar to what was said and meant.
Then, as soon as he was off this damn o crat Chucky Stinker or whatever, gets on with most likely decent Mexicans surrounding him. He lies, by saying President Trump wants these nice immigrants out of the country while they nod their heads in agreement. How come this turd took away a different message from what I did?
