Attorney General Sessions urges Maryland not to become sanctuary state

WASHINGTON - During the White House press briefing Monday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions took questions from reporters after he urged sanctuary cities to change their policies toward illegal immigrants.

Sessions said the Justice Department intends to begin punishing sanctuary cities by cutting federal grants from jurisdictions that refuse to honor detainer requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

A reporter in the briefing room then asked Sessions if anyone from the Department of Justice has had any conversation with Montgomery County or Rockville, Maryland officials about the alleged rape of a 14-year-old Rockville High School student by two undocumented immigrants also enrolled at the school.

  1. It will because our politicians have no courage and have no balls to make any kind of decision. On top of that, our governor is the purest RINO!! Marylander's should brace for the carnage soon to follow. Our governor will no protect us or even try to!! Sounds like it"s high time we take matters concerning protection into our own hands by any means possible!!!!

  9. Right on, 3:07. This is Truly the Fastest Way to change the composition of our so-called Maryland Legislature. I am predicting that in the next elections, if this goes through, Republicans will sweep into Annapolis and Rule this state.

  11. Governor can wait until end of session and veto. They can try again next year but by then the impact on other cities, towns, etc. playing the sanctuary game will be disincentive.
