A Viewer Writes: 50 west Taco/Kentucky

Joe,

Just eat, 6:05pm, at the taco Bell / Kentucky Fried Chicken in front of KMart. Very terrible experience. The help could care less if you got waited on and there was no need in it , since I counted 6 workers. There were no condiments, napkins or straws out. You had to ask for them. the counters appeared to not have been cleaned for hours. The floors had not been swept or mopped for hours, since there was food and drinks spilled and walked in. Trash was all over the floors and under the tables. I can only guess what the food area looked like or when it was last cleaned properly. I do not or would not recommend this place to eat. It is a wonder the Health Dept. has not closed them down. Hopefully those reading this will stay away from there. Hopefully I will not get food poison since I was stupid and eat the food instead of throwing it away and go over to the gas station to get me home.

  1. Had the same issues about 30 days ago. Because of the employees attitude I will never go back.

  2. They are one of the few places that I ever felt the need to contact headquarters about. They suck.

  4. 10:00. If the restaurant was in the condition you claim, why the HELL would you eat there??? Apparently there were plenty of signs that said RUN for your car.

  5. I don't understand the last sentence. Anyway, you're right, you shouldn't have even ordered if you saw all those things when you walked in there.

  6. And these are the same people that want to be paid $15/hr. That is why you are being replaced by kiosks!

  7. Chicken and Waffles - absolutely go together!!!!

Chicken and Tacos...as Tyler Perry portraying Madea would say:

    HELL TO THE NO!!!!!!!!!

  8. I was in there a couple weeks ago and the employees were yelling at each other, the place was a mess and your orders were messed up and again, the place was dirty....where is the owner of that business ?

  9. I'm sure the district manager will see this and get it changed. Some employees - including managers - don't care enough to make changes.

  10. It is always nasty in there and the service is always had the people are always rude I watched them drop chicken in the floor and pick it up and put it back in the tray to serve to someone else

  11. Good never go back! That food is loaded with fat and garbage. You will be better off never eating that crap again. Your waist line thanks you.

  12. It's all in the management. Hire people who will work, fire those who won't. Train your employees right, then supervise. If your managers suck, so will your employees and your business.

  13. Been there twice and the food and cleanliness of the place was very poor. Trash in the floor, and the tables were sticky to the touch from sodas that must have spelled in the past. I also had to ask for a straw and napkin. The food was okay, but based on the store, I never went back again. This was last summer.

  14. My child worked at this location for a couple of months before finding another job. I complained to the health department and to corporate about the way the manager was handling things at the location, cleanliness issues, fighting physically with a customer and nothing was done. The manager and regional manager are a married couple and are allowed to behave however they choose. On several occasions my child witnessed the manager Liza tasting food that was going out to customers... We will never eat here.

  17. This is a standard for this location.....I have gone to KFC website and complained at least 6 times and get the standard appreciation letter but nothing gets done. After my third complaint they quit responding and for good reason they are not going to make changes. Flood the web site with complaints and write bad reviews!!!!

  18. It's been like that for at least 15 years, nothing ever changes. The worst fast food restaurant on all of Delmarva.

  19. Had the same experience six months ago I contacted corporate they could care less. They need to change management shut the place down if you're not going to make it any better.

  20. Wow! Never been there but, by what I'm seeing, will never go now.

  21. This place is horrible. There is no organization everyone just roams around waiting for someone to tell them what to do. I went in there one evening, just after 5pm, I knew it was going to be busy but I didn't think it would take an hour to get food. Yes an hour! The bread store had just closed (btw that is a great place) and when I left it was just after 6pm. We haven't been back since.

  22. Ummm it's 50 EAST, not West. And they have had service issues for years!

    1. True. Went there the week they opened and people were waiting 45 minutes for "fast food". On the Eastern Shore you could FIND a chicken and fry it yourself in less than 45 minutes.

  23. 10:48 AM Funny you should mention "family" business. When I see one advertised as such I usually run.

Recently interviewed with such a place where the 25 boy is now the VP because he is diddling the owners daughter. I ran.

  24. Sounds to me like they need an inspection by the health department.

  25. Reminds me of when there were only two McDonalds in SBY. One by the SSU and black mac across from perdue on 50. Most people avoided the one on 50 for bad service and the smell from perdue.

    1. Lies and more lies. That McDonald's was a money maker especially before the by pass was made, but Corporate allowed it to age and go down into the ground and it became a eyesore. Perdue was always around stinking up the area.

  27. 1254 - I remember the years prior to the bypass when the McDonald's across from Perdue was even off limits, especially at night for tourists! Glad to hear nothing has changed! Sheesh!

  28. This has been an ongoing problem for quite some time. I have reported this the manager on 2 occasions an she just said she is short-staffed and "if I didn't like it, just go somewhere else." So I do.

  29. When I was last in there I saw people eating! You think I should have called the cops or a fire truck? (sarcasm for you idiots out there) Come on people, others are starving and homeless. If this is the worst thing you have to deal with then count your blessings!

  30. Americans would be better off to cut that kind of food out of the diet.

  31. owner has no control ... just like the schools. Employees probably bullied the owner

  32. I doubt the health department cares, ever seen the building they work in?

  33. Nothing new about this post. Its been like that for as long as I can remember. The Taco Bell down by the college is not much better. Must be owned by the same management team / owners. Both restaurants seem to have no management oversight.....and its obvious.

  34. Hate to say it. That's young black workers for you. Very rarely will they pull their own weight or have any pride in their job. They ruin it for the good ones.

  35. my experiences are different.. every time i have been there, the food and service were very good.. must have been a bad time? i eat there at least once a week...

  36. It is the Employees of that Store. It is Clear that Most of Them were raised by absent parents and Don't Understand the most basic of Customer Service Rules. And these jokers want $15 an hour!

  37. I had the same issues a year or so ago there. I have never went back since. They hire the most lazy and indifferent workers there. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't spit in the food and worse there.

    1. I've been there at least 6 times and haven't had a problem other than they seem to be a bit slow. I don't think that was a manager by the way. Not everyone has to agree with you.

    2. You are right. I cant say its been wchd nasty reportable and funny how most people on here report many experiences. I only need once to say im done, but they kept going back? Misery loves company.

    1. True and more true and its sad that it took this long before someone like u pointed this out. Yes service can be slow & thats corporates fault, because at times they are busy to say the least. So it cant b that nasty.

    2. You want to talk nasty. McDonald's off Nanticoke. Years ago i caught a elderly Caucasian lady manicuring her hands in the lemons. I told the manager i was told she does that often. I told them i work at the health dept. And would report it. I do not see lemons left out no more. They did remove the lemons and theow them out. Lets be real clear. The customers are the ones who are clearly nasty. I see people trying to clean behind them. If people cleaned behind themselves and their children area restaurants wouldnt be so nasty.

LOL, we all called it Black Mac too and would drive to S. 13 McDonalds rather than eat there.

  44. To the commenter that said it has been like that for 15 years-- they didn't open that location until 2010. But I fully understand what people are saying about the service there!

  45. we were there a couple weeks ago and they had mopped the floor with the same mop they mop the back greasy area with and it was so slippery you could hardly walk. A lady went up to the manager and told him and he replied. "that's what the wet floor signs are for" Didn't care a bit. We will NOT go back

    ReplyDelete
  46. We don't go to the Taco Hell KFC across from Kmart anymore! That is the worst restaurant I've ever been in! They're super slow! It's absolutely gross inside! The older black lady taking orders was very sweet. She apologized over and over for the poor management, the fact the the employees behind her were arguing and they were out of breasts. The manager just let the chaos go on without trying to calm anyone down. There were plenty of employees so being understaffed wasn't an issue. We went over to the soda fountain and there was a huge spill (not just one cup either) on the floor. It was right in front of the counter where the manager was handing out bags of food so I know he saw it. I told him anyway. His response was they'll get to it. The lady beside us said she'd been waiting for 45 minutes and it was there before she came in. Oh and they were out of Pepsi. The tables were gross. The trash cans were full so people had to leave trash on the tables. An older man walked in about 15 minutes into our wait and said he'd been in his car waiting for an hour and wanted to know where his food was. He'd been in 2 times before that to check. The manager stopped what he was doing and got the man's food. Another lady came in while we were waiting and said she'd been to Kmart while she waited. They did have her food ready. After waiting for 35 minutes, talking to the people that had been waiting ahead of us and seeing how nasty it was we chose to get our money back and go elsewhere. The service has always been bad. We'd only used the drive thru. We went in this time because we thought we'd get quicker service. Good thing we did go in. Now we know just how nasty it is. No more chances for them to gain our business

  52. Have called on them multiple times..people on their phones, bad food and bad service..I know that headquarters has to know because there are a lot of other places on the web people have complained like this..they need to fire everyone and rehire a new crew..that store has a lazy infection.
