A Viewer Writes... 4-24--17

Joe, I ate at the Old West steak house. The owner is the cook he makes the best dam steaks around. If you want a good NY strip go there. People always say there's no good food in Salisbury or its all Sysco food. That man knows what's up. Gotta give props where it's due.

  6. That steak from a skinny cow? Barely thicker than a french fry. A steak should be 2 inches thick.

  7. My wife and I eat there twice a week and for 2 chef prepared meals the total is around 34 dollars you cant beat it!

  9. The food is good but it really has a cleanliness issue... we stopped going not because of food but how dirty the dining room was.. if thats the condition of the public space what does the kitchen/back look like?

  10. Stopped going years ago when food quality went downhill. I bet that miniature stagecoach has about another 1/2 inch of dust on it!

  11. YES, GOOD STEAKS......BUT, they have to replace carpets clean the place up and get some decent servers, some of those girls are poor excuses for waitresses! Have sat there waiting when no crowd was present.

    1. Right! It's called the Old West Steakhouse, not the Dirty West Steakhouse. There is a difference between old and dirty.

  17. Sorry, the place is definitely dirty, the service is NOT good and the food is just soso. Not my kind of place.

  18. Good used to be consistently good, not any more. I had friends in town and I raved about how good their steaks were....bad move on my part. Steaks were small, thin, cheap cuts and poorly prepared.
Shame, but the quality just isn't there anymore. Add to that the general lack of service and the dirty surroundings. Pass.

  20. If that's the picture of this "great" steak, no thank you. Buy a whole NY strip from Sams and butcher it yourself at your home. You'll get 8-12 thick, beautiful steaks, which will be 3-4 times thicker then the one pictured. Vacuum seal them for preservation and throw the extra in the freezer until you're ready for them.

  27. For you critics, quit going there and ordering the cheap steak. You get what you pay for. And if it's overcooked, don't order it well done. Duh. Get the prime rib, and you will find it the best prime rib in Salisbury. Granted, the place could use some remodeling, but I'd rather pay for great food at a reasonable price, than to pay for mediocre, high priced food in a fancy lounge. When being entertained for dinner, I always chose the Old West Steak house. And I always suggest it to my friends that are looking for the best steak at a reasonable price. Check the hours before you go so you won't be disappointed if they are not open.

  28. I'll have to go back and give if another chance. I rarely don't finish my meal. The last time I was there, I had 3 bites of my steak and then wrapped it up for my dog. Maybe it was just a bad night.

  29. I can't wait until we has a real restaurant like the Cracker Barrel here!

  30. Prime rib there is much better than NY strip!

  31. The best steak in town is cooked on my grill and the best crabs are the ones I catch and steam.

  32. I went there and asked for my prime rib Pittsburg style. Folks, it came back hot and cold like it just came out of the microwave. My Wife said lets leave and we did.

  34. 12:50 Are you a caveman or just stuck in the 1950's? Girls? Ladies, women, waitresses, wait staff are all better choices.

  35. Stay home and cook your own food and quit thinking with your fat belly.

    ReplyDelete
  36. How can you make prime rib Pittsburgh rare? Prime rib is roasted in the oven.

  37. @ 3:17 was that a micro aggression or are you just trying to control other peoples behavior ?

  39. Who are you to criticize how someone expresses themselves ? No doubt you are a liberal commie that tries to control everyone else based on your personal preference.

  40. Used to be the best place in Salisbury for steaks and great food, piano in the lounge. Now, it's dirty, has lack luster food and you will get hit or miss service. No thanks.
