A Comment Found On Facebook

I may not be a Salisbury resident and I may not be able to "vote" any council member in or out, but I have children that live in Salisbury, I work in Salisbury and I spend a hell of a lot of money in the city of Salisbury. That being said, I will do what I can, even if it is only to show my outrage at the statements made by Jackson. You can hate "my President", I don't recall anyone asking you to like it....a line was crossed with her statement that warrants much more than a half-hearted apology and I hope and pray that the people that can make a difference, will step up and demand more be done!

  3. Like what, a recall? Next to impossible. The number of signatures needed just to begin to remove a council member is in the thousands, twice or better than the number of people who voted in city elections. Who among the outraged is outraged enough to collect those signatures?

    1. Wrong. It wouldn't be in the thousands. It has to be 30% of the registered voters of district 1. So let's not discourage people from trying to rid our city of this cancer with your misinformation.

  4. As the father of an Autistic child, I found her holly center comments offensive and totally unprofessional. She needs to do the right thing and resign.

  5. I dont remember what school it was or if it was even a local school but someone got on their twitter and made a tweet that some that was uncalled for. That person lost their job. Employees who make obscene statutes about their work or customers when and if that post goes Viral they loose their job. I dont understand why elected offcials can just say "Sorry" and move on. If she felt that upset over Trump, what is going to happen when something horrible happens around here? She obviously lets her emotions get the best of her and we will be the ones who pay the price. Elected officials are suppose to be well educated. If those choice of words were the only words that came to her mind thats sad.

  6. Her apology? What apology? She basically said, 'I got caught talking and I'm sorry that I got caught'...I didn't hear an apology at all

  7. 1:58 Unfortunatley it's not in her to do the right thing and step down. She needs that $800 a month she is collecting from the city taxpayers. And I would be willing to bet Salisbury residents are too lazy to do anything about it.

  8. Continued social media embarrassment could eventually see it get to lame stream media! Once that happens...well that should be enough!

  9. This concern proves Salisbury has no ethics clause. If they do what is the hold up she should be gone. This is just another tax payer welfare check for her. This also proves the Mayor and Council has no ethics.

  10. For those of you waiting for her to do "the right thing", in her mind, she's already done it with giving that lame performance in front of the council, the camera and her few close supporters. Don't expect more, because it isn't coming.

  11. Her gone? Yeah right! In a perfect world my friends. You need to take another look.

  13. Did anyone else notice Community Organizer Jermichael Mitchell defending her by comparing her statement to a legitimate post by a county council member some 2 or 3 years ago?

Why he isn't locked up yet is beyond me.

  14. If she was WHITE she would already be gone!!!!End of story!!!

  17. While I was empathetic because of folks that were hurt by her insensitive comparison of Trump and Holly Center residents, I am more concerned about the overall tenor of her remarks. First, who exactly was she referring to when she said y'alls President? Conservative voters? White Republicans? Can you even imagine what the reaction would have been if someone had made that comment while Obama was President? Her blatant disrespect and condescension towards people who do not share her political views is not behavior that should be tolerated when holding public office. Not only should there be some official position taken by the Administration- there should be a public reprimand by the City Council President. On the other hand, there is indeed the First Ammendment. It appears however that only persons of her ilk enjoy the privilege.

  18. These comments and post are just so sad , it's funny. You jokers got on here complaining before the Monday meeting and not one complained there, while she had here tribe fill the room with praise. Now it is over and you are at it again, sad.

  19. That pesky 1st. amendment works both ways don't it?
