Wake Up & Smell the Deceit

By Thornton Crowe

When Richard Nixon was exposed for lying during the Watergate hearings and using his executive privilege to thwart the investigators from learning the true nature of why the infamous Plumbers broke into the DNC headquarters, Americans were aghast at the revelations. It was hardly the first time an American president did this type of action. After his resignation, one close aid to Franklin Roosevelt made the comment that he hadn't done anything that all presidents before him had done - including FDR - but the one difference was, Nixon got caught.

In retrospect, watching all the nonsense that's occurred with the Democrats like Hillary Clinton, perhaps Nixon shouldn't have resigned; however, he loved the country more than himself and stepped down to spare us from further upset and embarrassment.  There are historians that agree, had he chosen to 'ride out the storm,' he might have weathered as well as Democrat predecessor.

Francis Gary Powers
In fact, many Americans today don't even remember or know about the incident during Dwight  Eisenhower's snafu when one of our U-2 planes was shot down over Russia on May 1, 1960 during the second Red Scare. CIA pilot Frances Gary Powers parachuted out of the fallen plane instead of taking the cyanide he was supposed to do in such an event. Causing a ruckus between DC and Moscow, which further heightened tensions between the US and Russia as it confirmed to Nikita Khrushchev, the US was running aerial surveillance of their region. Eisenhower refused to issue a formal apology and for a few days denied the incident to Americans, claiming it was a weather operation gone a rye. In the end, he admitted the truth and promised to halt the program.

With Watergate, there was no foreign hostile entity involved; it was an 'inside job.' And many Americans to this day, misunderstand the incident because they seldom seek out the real story behind the ordeal. The long short is this, it was an abuse of presidential power to spy on political opposition. Isn't that what wiretapping a presidential candidate during the election would be considered?

What we're finding is the Obama Administration's deep seated involvement grossly overthrows the Watergate scandal. This wasn't a group of 'plumbers' infiltrating Trump Towers; it was an all out cyber war against the opposition, having nothing to do with National Security. It's about retaining power and/or hiding illegal unconstitutional activities perpetrated by the prior Administrations. (Note: plural)

Had Obama or Clinton found anything of merit, rest assured, we would've have already heard about it contained just like we learned about the Bush tape. If anything had truly been found to be damning, it would simply be too irresistible for Obama's operatives and fake news networks to pass up.

Just for the record, no Obama spokesperson has denied tapping occurred and it was found out yesterday that FISA denied the FBI's request in May 2016, which is extraordinary given that particular court usually rubber-stamps requests with little evidence to warrant such actions. In October, they returned and was granted their request but the origins for the push are still being investigated. Who really requested it and why? Hint: It has absolutely nothing to do with the Logan Act.

Now, all these 'revelations' are designed to keep President Trump from following through with his campaign promises. Jobs and keeping Americans SAFE! While its not working out so hot, Obama and his cohorts are going to keep trying. It will depend on you, the American citizens, to discern truth from propaganda.  In short, like it or not, you're going to have to stay engaged!

Do you still wonder how and why professional politicians discourage regular citizens from running for elected offices as per our Founding Fathers' vision for American governance?

  5. If administrations spy on high profile citizens, imagine how many of you have files at the various agencies. James Rosen said he wasn't even aware he was being tapped and investigated as a criminal until it was exposed by the press a couple years after the fact. That should cause many people to be concerned. When will you learn you're on a no-fly list? When you show up at the airport to go on a vacation or, God forbid, there's a death in your family and you need to attend a funeral? This type of behavior is highly illegal when done without just cause. Just cause is not having a different political philosophy or being an opponent in an election.

  6. 1100 you described a police state. Who needs martial law when you have a police state? We're already there.

  7. Comey and all the Obama people have to go. There's no way around it. Draining the swamp has to work top down until every person is terminated.

  8. Thought it was odd that Obama seemed so confident Clinton would win. He was trying to make sure the fix was in and like Brexit he failed to move the population. Wondering if Nixon had been a Democrat would he have been investigated and fear impeachment? I'd say probably not.

  9. The people who did not follow along with the progressive movement (aka the far left), Obama and his cronies would search for anything to discredit them and make their lives miserable. The James Rosen case was a perfect example of a conservative news reporter being hounded to try to find out who his sources of leaked info was coming from. If ever found, the person is probably deceased today. That's how Obama's team operated.

  10. Love how all the usual suspects are rushing to defend Obama, just like they did with Nixon. They're poised to be brought to justice like 'all the president's men' before them who went to jail while the former president never saw the prison cell. Ben Rhodes, Valerie Jarrett and their kin are all rallying to protect will probably end up in prison for their part in this fiasco. Wonder which Watergate actor these modern day criminal would portray.

  11. President Trump needs to use the full weight of the White House and start investigating and arresting all of the people involved in ANY deception. The democrats will not stop. It's no longer just the far left or radical left it's the entire party of democrats.... I am embarrassed I was a democrat. I refused to vote obama because of his ties with racist.

Nixon made the Vietnam war go on longer than it had to so he could win an election. I have posted several articles but I don't see them posted.

  16. Comey gave a press conference where he said "there is no absolute privacy anywhere in this country" (not even in the sanctity of one's home?? Nope.).
He also said there is "no place in this country where our jusisdiction doesn't reach".
Translation: We watch, listen, photograph, and record EVERYONE anytime and anywhere we please. If we find something we don't like, there is no place where we can't use our power and authority against anyone we choose.
WHO gave theses Nazi's this power?? WHO do these Nazi's think they work for? Hitler? Mao?
EVERY American (even those perfect ones that never do anything wrong) should be alarmed, if not frightened by a governemnt official with THAT much arrogance and power.
We will need to hang them AND their families (just to make sure no son or daughter ever thinks they would like to grow up and be a Nazi.)
This top-to-bottom, everywhere, all the time surveillance HAS to stop.
    One way or the other.

  17. Find it interesting that people throw around this "Nazi meme" so freely when most have never studied Nazi Germany with any real depth or scholarship. Would suggest you do this, 1006, because your comment just smacks of hysterical ranting instead of having any general thesis or thoughtful conclusion backed up by facts.

This is a growing problem with the bumpersticker slogan society who treads off talking points and looks no deeper for true meanings or if this is even applicable. People blindly spouting off about Nazis and Hitler as if that meaning hasn't been severely diminished with all the high-brow talk during the election. Like the word racism, they have damaged it's impact and made it into a joke.

  18. BS, 10:12. Total BS. Pretentious and intellectually dishonest BS.
"Nazi" IS a good description of these "we know whats best for you and if you don't like it, we can financially destroy you, ruin your reputation, and if you STILL don't get it, we can and will imprison you or kill you. The LAW??? LOL! It wasn't meant for US".
Secret arrests. Secret trials. Secret prisons. READ THAT AGAIN, 10:12. Warrantless and violent searches. Resist at all and get shot. Reporters labeled as "conspirators" (?!!) and secretly watched and recorded. ALL in the United States! And YOU claim the "Nazi" label is hysterical????
Government confiscation of land, property and money. With NO CHARGES AND NO TRIAL. APPROVED by the Supreme Court, too!!
I suggest that YOU do some scholarly and in-depth study. You have apparently spent too much time on your knees, cheering the Nazi's and the complete destruction and disregard of the principles of individual freedom and self-reliance this country was built upon. Like the Nazi's, our "leaders" believe THEY are the arbiters of what they will ALLOW the citizens to do, say, and believe. And you better not cross them.
Believe this, too --- NONE of this is a joke. Its FACT.
Refute it if you can. Specifically.
    I'll wait.

  19. Common Sense with your CoffeeMarch 12, 2017 at 11:01 AM

Once again, 1054 is being hysterical and nonsensical. You rant on and on about nonsense and think capitalized words is making your point. The fact is you don't speak like someone who has studied Nazi Germany nor has a clue what the Third Reich did other than some documentary you no doubt saw on the History channel or some Netflix special feature. You follow the same BS the democrats follow where anyone who doesn't agree with you is a Nazi or Hitler instead of trying to ascertain any other side of any given argument. What you say may have merit but it's buried under hysterical presentation that takes away from your message.

  20. Can someone please tell me just one positive thing that BO has done for our country for both the short term and long term??? This person has been a proven liar, a proven criminal, a proven traitor and a proven coward. So what's his contribution to anything. He's no better than the street thugs in his home town of Chicago. No wonder he's going down as the worst president ever and we should be ashamed of electing this POS individual to the highest office. The great experiment failed and in the process help destroy our country!
