Maryland senators on health care reform: Don't rush it
COLUMBIA, Md. —As Republicans tee up a House vote on Thursday to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, Democrats -- including those in Maryland -- are putting on their own full-court-press.
In Howard County on Monday, U.S. Sens. Ben Cardin and Chris van Hollen headlined a town hall meeting on health care as part of an ongoing effort to hear constituent concerns and also to make sure the House GOP plan is dead on arrival.
"Don't rush this through. We've got to know what we do before we pass it," Cardin said.
"This could come down to very few votes in the House, and certainly in the Senate," van Hollen said. "As long as their plan is to destroy the Affordable Care Act, I will fight it tooth and nail."
The audience was primarily composed of health care professionals. The senators said they are frustrated with the lack of specifics on the Republican health care bill, especially with talk of last-minute changes to the measure.

ReplyDeleteThese Liberal Loosers just want to slow the Process down so that they can muster support against President Trump's Health Care Act. If Republicans are as smart as I think they are, they will work as Fast as Possible to pass this Bill for President Trump before the traitor DemonRATS can throw up yet more Road Blocks.
ReplyDeleteThey way they are obstructing President Trump and our Republican Congress is Outrageous and Disgusting. Why are they even here if they Hate this Country so much???
why not wait until Christmas Eve to pass the bill unread like they did?
ReplyDeleteITS going to FAIL because of COST .
ReplyDeleteCardin needs to shut the hell up. He and his ilk have ruined Maryland and now he is setting his sight on the US. Pitiful
ReplyDeleteLet it fail then give it back to the pros in the private sector.

ReplyDeleteExcept for being politician Ben Cardin has never held a job in his life. You can look it up!
ReplyDeleteTwo more proving they will lose their kickbacks if it passes. Also they will have to buy their own Health Insurance. Only the ones that profit from Obamacare was at the meeting. This open anybody's eyes
ReplyDeleteCardin and Van Hollen are the biggest Communists out there. Whatever they say, be SURE to run in the opposite direction!
ReplyDeleteThis the same cardin that drove through crowds of protestors during the ACA and ignored them. We got a pile of crap that no one read. Do you think he has to worry about co pays, or finding generic drugs, or even waiting for a doctor? Total, POS he is...
ReplyDeleteGovernment run healthcare is an oxymoron. It's not about healthcare at all, but about control of taxpayers' dollars and how they're spent. These elected officials don't give a rats ass if you get insurance, have a doctor or get any care. It's about control- that's it.
ReplyDeleteIt's total BS.
