Deadly Batch Of Heroin Laced With Painkiller Hitting Md. Streets

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A dramatic surge in heroin deaths is happening across the country. Health officials warn it’s because of a lethal new trend–spiking heroin with powerful painkillers.

Dozens of Marylanders have already died.

Christie Ileto has more on the deadly drug mixture.

Health officials say that combination is deadly. And it’s not just happening in one part of Maryland, but across the state.

State health officials say a deadly batch of heroin is hitting Maryland streets. The already potent drug is now being laced with fentanyl–a powerful painkiller.

  3. Mostly China, smuggled in via the Mexican Cartels. They then distribute it like any other drug into the US, via mules. The massive drug pipelines of Chicago gangs mainly deal in dealer distribution to the East Coast. It's then picked up by local dealers in New York, Philadelphia, and Wilmington.

  7. @11:03 WHY would they do that? The dealer didn't force anyone to buy from them, or to intake the drug. Since they dont lock up the user even though using drugs is illegal, why should they charge the seller with murder?

  9. The charges for distribution should include attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder, as well as a bunch of others.

  11. Wait, you guys, the government IS the Kingpin! Why do you think we're in Afghanistan and other poppy growing countries there guarding those crops? Sending arms and trading them for... you guessed it!
