ReplyDeleteRemember it very well, nothing past midnight and the national anthem ended the programming for the day.
ReplyDeletenational anthem, the test pattern, then snow. Until about 550am, then test pattern, national anthem and the beginning of one's day.

I remember it shutting down at 11:30, just after the news, weather and sports (except for Saturday, which was Monster Movie night). Then came late night shows on every network.

ReplyDeleteOne channel played a jet fighter video with a poem voice over of 'High Flight' before the Anthem. Great end to a day!
