Black Lives Matter “achievement” they’d rather NOT mention…

Remember all those Black Lives Matter protests at Mizzou — the University of Missouri — not that long ago? The one where the protesters were demanding the president of the institution be removed because the school was a hotbed of racism?

Well, the school is paying the ultimate price for those events.

According to the Daily Caller, The University of Missouri’s (MU) flagship Columbia campus has officially lost a staggering 23 percent of its freshman class this year, an even worse figure than administrators initially predicted in the wake of major racial strife.

he big enrollment drop at MU has been brewing for months, but finally became a reality this week with the start of fall term on campus. MU’s freshman class this year has some 4,799 students, a drop of over 1,400 from last year, when freshmen numbered 6,211. Overall enrollment is down by over 2,200, a drop of about 7 percent, according to preliminary numbers released by the school.

The drop is even worse than officials at the school were predicting last spring. In March, interim chancellor Hank Foley warned the school was facing a drop of 1,500 students.

  1. This demonstrates that there are many black families that want nothing to do with this foolishness.

  4. I think it says FRESHMAN not black freshman. I'm sure there's a lot of white families who don't want their kids trying to get an education with this mess going on

  5. Why the heck would I choose a college that bends over for such behavior? And you can bet that the professors, especially the liberal arts and political science types, are drowning in and passing on liberal postmodern thinking, another reason not to to make this my alma mater.

  9. 8:58 You may have misinterpreted.

Article says total freshman class is down, big time. No breakdown was offered about gender or racial stats of the frosh. Just a major drop in enrollment which translates into a major revenue hit for the next 4 or 5 years as the non-enrollees provide no cash. Very difficult to attract students to transfer in, especially with the mega bad publicity. In addition, a number of students enrolled last year are not returning. So loss of their remaining revenue.

Students who don't enroll or graduate will not be contributing alumni over the next 4 or 5 decades, either.

Segregation is keeping people out by means of various laws or regulations, as was done by Democrats in the Jim Crow southern states. If a parent or student decides the current climate at Mizzou is not the college experience they want to dig deep to purchase, they have lots of options and apparently are making other choices.

Mizzou's former leaders dropped the ball by trying to placate immature youth. They failed the institution, which is paying the price for their personal and group failure.
