WBOC DESTROYED THIS WEEKENDS OCEAN CITY TRAFFIC WITH ANOTHER HUGE FORECAST MISTAKE

Once again, Dan Satterfied and WBOC's new satellite forecasts were completely wrong.

They called for rain all weekend. On Thursday they said Saturday would be perfect at the Beach but Sunday would have rain all day. Friday morning they completely changed their Saturday forecast by stating it would be raining all day Saturday and Sunday.

Because of these forecasts and their Weather App, they were dead wrong, AGAIN. As I sit here and 3:00 on Sunday writing this Post, we've had nothing but sunny skies and no rain at all. Being that people could have come to the Beach for the entire weekend and would by now be heading back home, WBOC is destroying the local economy.

Look, some of you, (especially WBOC employees) rag on me for going after their forecasts and I'd really like to know, WHY? The more WBOC drives people away, the less money Ocean City makes and the higher our taxes go up. You are not a professional if you continue to FAIL at what you do.

Yesterday morning I was in a local store and a woman was on the phone telling her friends, COME ON OUT TO OC, THE WEATHER IS PERFECT. She went on to say, the weather people got it completely wrong.

It goes to show you, you can put on a suit and tie and ACT like you know what you're doing while being a complete BS Artist. WBOC, you just cost Ocean City MILLIONS of dollars. I hope you're happy.

  1. considering wboc is a shore station I dont think many tourists watch it for their weather report. In fact I dont think many local pay attention to them either.

  2. I wonder what maps they look at. Weather .com map is almost always on the money. and it showed the Saturday And Sunday weather really pretty nice. I guess WBOC JUST NEED TO TRY HARDER TO GET IT RIGHT.

  5. The meteorologists are always wrong. Even in the DC area they called for rain for the weekend and were wrong as well.

  6. I agree with 10:26 - how is it weather.com is always right, right down to the HOUR. They say it will rain at 3pm on Sunday, it rains on 3pm at Sunday. WBOC doesn't even offer a hourly forecast. When planning my weekend weather.com is always where I turn too.

Why is it we always had weather people before who took pride in getting it right and most often did, they understood Delmarva. Why can't Satterfield figure it out? Dennis Ketterer, Bob Burnett-Kurie, Eileen Whelan and the other lady where all far better.

  8. I know that there is a huge area for them to cover but what we seem to get is dire warnings of storms for the entire area. It would help if they were more area specific. I don't live in Delaware.

  9. I will trust looking at the sky more than my local weather sources. Don't know if it's poor equipment or incompetent newscasters but, life must go on, and I can't live on every word of Dan's Forecasts!!!! I'll take my changes, and deal with weather events as they come along!!!

  10. 1:16, While I agree with what you are saying, WBOC keeps brainwashing everyone with commercials saying, "Dan said it was going to be like this" and you can TRUST them. Then they do this big piece convincing everyone they just spent all this money on a new system that will not only be far more accurate, it will give new HD details, blah, blah, blah.

When people try to conserve energy by hanging their clothes outside instead of running a dryer but can't do so because Dan said at any minute, ALL weekend long it's going to rain, they're full of crap and they're inconveniencing everyone.

Now I don't mind people being wrong about certain things, like you said, things happen. But when you are spending all that money, come on man, you can't even get the rain right for an entire weekend?
