A Catholic girls school in downtown Frederick says the 192-year-old institution will close June 30 due to low enrollment and rising costs.
Visitation Academy Chairman Mark Matan (MAT'-en) announced the shutdown Friday in a letter to parents.
Archdiocese of Baltimore spokesman Sean Caine says in an email that 89 students are registered for next school year. WTOP-FM reported the school's enrollment at 145 in 2012.
The school offered classes from pre-kindergarten through middle school.

No we are just as strong as ever, but the lawless teachers unions are stronger. Most tax paying citizens can't afford the tuition that is needed to keep the schools open. Not sure about that school, but a couple of years ago the Salisbury School was charging $14,000 per student per year.
If the liberal Democrats would allow school tax vouchers and school choice then there wouldn't be an issue and we wouldn't see this school closing. This is very sad and a sad day for America.
But to add to to your silly joke, I bet if Muslims had their own private schools Obama and the Libtards would make sure they would get a school tax voucher.
