  1. It doesn't surprise me as there are no jobs in and around Salisbury anymore. Most all of the manufacturers have high-tailed it out of here - except - for Perdue and/or other poultry companies. And even those jobs pay chicken wages in comparison to the western shore scales.

    1. So theft is justified because of the lack of jobs in the area? You are off your rocker!

Western shore pays more? Please don't spout that bs. They have the same issues we face here too; lack of jobs, crappie schools, poor roads, crime, drugs etc.

  2. NO excuse for stealing. period. there are jobs that can't be filled because no one wants to work menial jobs. again; NO excuse for stealing.

  3. Sick of hearing no jobs as an excuse....go pickup the Sussex Guide, jobs everywhere....go to Perdue, Amick, Mountaire, and Tyson web sites...pages of jobs!!! Put some electricity to those copper pipes and you will catch the lazy thieves!!!

  4. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but it's usually a crackhead that does this kind of thing. Anyone who is simply unemployed has the sense to know all the scrapyards require ID now.

    1. You are 100 percent correct other than they aren't crackheads anymore. Since they cut down on bad doctors prescribing pills. All the pill addicts are now heroine addicts and yes they are everywhere on our great eastern shore.

    2. The pill heads are everywhere in the U.S. Has been that way since 1997 the year OxyContin hit the market.

    3. I know why he's saying that though. Crackheads will work for their crack while pill heads usually look for a program to pay for all their needs while they don't work.

  5. I am only sticking around for the coming legal pot.

  6. Working in a chicken plant pays way more than the costs of hours and equipment needed to steal the copper and process it for sale. I hope they catch these heroin addicts and give them years to get off the stuff and give everything they own back to Sam, which unfortunately, is probably nothing.

Everybody is a loser here because of Middle
Eastern heroin imports by I wonder who. And don't tell me it all comes in our southern borders so it's not Afghan. If they can smuggle
Chinese across the Mexican border, they can smuggle
    Afghan heroin.

  7. Check in with local recylers for any bulk copper turn ins

  8. Hmmmm....could it be the same guy who stole copper from a rooftop in downtown Salisbury? The building belonged to the worlds greatest news journalists. We never forget Mr. tough guy.

  9. Just do like most of the metal thieves do, take it to the next state.

  10. A guy has to do something to get cash for drugs and cigarettes, SNAP won't let me get that stuff. I ain't going to work, that takes too much time, it is a whole lot easier to just steal.

  11. Wonder if the Sheriff's Department can solve this one??? Three houses on my road broken into in broad day light. I never see police out in the county on back roads. My neighbor is a deputy and she is great but she told me there are only two deputies for the whole county some days. I read there are over one hundred deputies. How can that be only two working the beat. Sheriff you need to look at assigments.

I've been prescribed Oxycontin several times due to 2 serious injuries requiring major surgery and I am not a pill head so F*** YOU!! These prescriptions were prescribed and used appropriately. Quit blaming pill heads or whatever you want to call them on the medication or the doctors. These druggies take drugs because they want to. Just like alcoholics get drunk all the time and no one is blaming Anheuser-Busch you stupid moron!

    1. Who do you think gets people hooked on these pills? It's the doctors. They are the ones who dole out this "medicine". They know how addictive it is but they keep prescribing it because the money is so good. The took an oath to do no harm, it's on them. The pill heads are often people just like you who start because it is prescribed by a doctor so it sounds safe.
And I WOULD blame Anheuser-Busch if they were paying doctors to prescribe beer and fudging data to make it not look as harmful. Opiates brought down a Chinese dynasty which at the time was the most powerful nation in the world. Everyone got hooked on Opium and the country just collapsed.

Police officers these days don't investigate crime, they just file a report. If they can't locate a stolen phone being used by the thief making phone calls then you know they can't catch someone breaking into houses.

  15. Wico Sheriff's deputies couldn't find their own ass with both hands and a flashlight!
If it don't involve donuts and coffee, you're out of luck.

  16. I disagree get all those cops doing nothing that sit at head quarters all day out on the road. The crime has become ridiculous around here. If it is true there are only two cops on county roads at times that is not what we pay for. I do not get how this can be true. Where the heck are all those cops at ??? Something stinks here. Years ago I saw Sheriffs cars everywhere. What has happened to them all. Did they leave the force. Joe just how many criminals do they lock up a year ??

reminds me of Baltimore City Police they had so many inside they were tripping over each other. Oh well safer here than there.

  17. I'm more inclined t think that's a member of the Anti's that are working against the
Paleo Channel crowd of the northwest proposed sire.

They will ship this copper to Pennsylvania or other to hide the crime.

Wicomico needs to make their search expansive, but I'll guess it will lead to one of our local activists or friends of them.

  18. At least the bum had to work for his money! Probably the most work done in years by the bum! Lmao!
I've also heard about many contractors who steal their own cooper and claim insurance. Sometimes three and four times on the same job! And they can in turn go to the scrap yards unquestioned! Food for thought.

  19. the sheriffs dept has a second location at chic fila

  20. Probably did it themselves because they figured out they will be in debt for the rest of their lives with the low prices paid for chickens. And with all the new ones slated to be built, the prices paid to the farmers are going to be slashed big time. From an economic standpoint and what's best for the economy, you want less chicken farms and not more. The more there are the less the companies have to pay the farmers. The companies need to have to compete for growers.

  21. Scrap yards know how to play the game. Copper and more valuable
metals are out the gate quickly as to not get caught with stolen
    goods.

  22. Would it be legal to shoot one of these people if one caught them in the act?
