13 Dogs Face Euthanasia Due to Lack of Government Funding

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Over a dozen dogs may be euthanized if they’re not adopted by June 30.

Earlier this month, Cecil County notified A Buddy For Life animal shelter in Elkton that because they’re pulling county funding, the shelter would have until June 30 to clear all of the animals out of their current space before the county converts the building into the new Animal Control Division.

The shelter has been working endlessly to help all of their dogs find happy homes before the end of the month.

“We’d love the option of taking every one of them home” says a representative from the shelter, “but we’re doing what we can.”

  4. A couple years ago my daughters neighbors 2 dogs on 3 different times got out and killed two of her cats plus attacked her dog as they were digging under her fence. She spent almost $900.00 for her dog whos throat was tore apart. They were told that their dogs had to have a mussel on at all times when outside. When my daughter kept seeing them without it she called the H. S. plus took video of them and still to this day nothing has changed. They don't care.

  5. I will say that the Humane society does the best they can while animal control is a joke. It is a shame they are located in the same building and thus associated because they couldn't be more different. ps its Molnar with an L

  7. That's what happens when you get 2 weeks of training and are turn lose to enforce laws what a joke

  8. 2 weeks training in spelling words would greatly improve this discussion, but I guess that won't be happening! It's hard to understand your points, and even harder to expect that at your education level you could ever care for any animal in any circumstance!

    But, you "Go haid!"
