Woman Who Wore ‘America Was Never Great’ Hat Speaks Out On The Backlash, Proves Her Ignorance

Krystal Lake decided it would be an awesome idea to wear a hat to work at Home Depot to make a political statement and all hell broke loose. The hat says, “America Was Never Great.” It was meant to be a slap at Donald Trump… she’s a Bernie Sanders zombie. People were massively offended and Home Depot told her it was against the rules to wear such a hat at work. She won’t wear it to work again, but will keep wearing it in public. The free America that she hates so much, gives her the right to do that. I don’t like Trump either, but I equally despise Sanders. Politics aside, it is wholly inappropriate to don a hat saying such an inflammatory thing at work. And… she still doesn’t get it.

From Staten Island Live:

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Home Depot worker Krystal Lake, whose controversial anti-Trump hat took over the internet this week, says she won’t be donning the cap to work again.

“I won’t be wearing the hat inside Home Depot anymore,” Lake told the Advance Friday, “but I’m definitely going to be wearing it in public — 100 percent.”

Lake, who plans to go back to work next week, says she is “shocked all of this is happening over her hat.”

Home Depot told the Advance that the hat violates the store’s policy, which prohibits employees from wearing “items that reflect political statements.”

“No one on our management team saw her wearing the hat — otherwise, they would have had her remove it immediately.”

  8. She's am idiot, she knows nothing about American history or the sacrifice of the men and women that has made this country great and gives her the right (which I don't agree with) to wear the hat.

  9. Its a hat get your pitchforks! Wow the level of pure idiocracy in the nation is astounding. Sure shes a fool for wearing it. You want her to lose her job because of a political view? I have mine and its certainly not mainstream or embraced by many at all. Doesnt mean I cant have the opinion or conform to norms of society. When you label someone different than you as less than you, you inherently are part of the problem with progress.

  10. She was wrong for wearing the hat to work but she has a right to wear it outside work. The same right others have when they wear their "Trump" or "Hillary" or "Bernie" tshirts. Leave her alone.

The point here is not this ignorant b*tch and her silly hat. She'll go thru life with a chip on her shoulder and expectations of taxpayer-funded freebies because of the slim chance that some distant relative might have been held in slavery. She's a lost cause already. No, the issue here is the rampant hypocrisy in our society. Suppose I walked in to HD with a shirt proclaiming Obama to be a 'filthy POS'? Hell - I'd be asked to leave. Kids can't wear NRA shirts to school. I am actually prohibited from putting a Confederate flag on an ancestor's grave. So don't preach about tolerance and labeling when our society is rampant with politically-correct prohibitions already. It is well past time to give these 'tolerant progressives' a taste of their own medicine.
