A Viewer Writes: RANT!!!

I don't normally post negative things out here on social media but I am so disappointed with our local media. Yesterday several bikers attended the "RIDE TO THE TIDE" event that started in Smyrna, DE Harley Davidson and ended at Jake's Seafood in Rehoboth, DE. This was an event to support the "SPECIAL OLYMPICS." There were 1000 yes ONE THOUSAND motorcycles and over 1400 riders that attended this event. The local Delaware Blue Knights Chapter 1 put on this event and it was very successful. WBOC was a sponsor for this event. Has anyone seen or heard ANYTHING on this event in our local media? Come on WBOC it's more than just a matter of giving money to support. You are our local media television and radio station. Where was your booth? Your van? Your photographer? The Chopper? Can you imagine what this would of looked like from the view of Chopper 16? It was amazing. People lined the highway taking pictures and videos. The Police Department was awesome in the way they escorted and made sure there was NO incidents. We hear so much NEGATIVITY now in our area it's disgusting but when something great happens...where is the coverage? I just can't believe that you couldn't of assigned a crew to represent such a great event. If you have posted anything WBOC TV then I apologize and I will remove this post. But I haven't seen anything on your website or on the news. Shame on you! So for those of you who support our local community and believe that there are some good doers out there, thank you for riding! Eagle Riders Salisbury, Hogs and Hero's, Arrogant Bastards just to mention a few! Please feel free to share! Rant Over!

  1. A quick internet search produced proof the event had media coverage. While the cause is most certainly noble, I doubt tv viewers are interested in footage of guys on motorcycles driving on the highway. Bike Week attracts many more participants, and there's barely any coverage on that event as well.

Focus on supporting the selected charity rather than seeking your 15 minutes of fame.

    1. Bike week is not for a noble charitable cause like Special Olympics! And YES, some people WOULD like to see 1,000 men riding on motorcycles on the news! Something positive on the news...blasphemy!

    2. "Some" people might like to see a bunch of old men driving motorcycles on the highway. You know who? The same self-serving 1,000.

We already agree the cause is noble. You didn't get the media coverage you thought you deserved. So be it. Stop trying to draw attention to yourselves and focus on the cause.

  2. If you were pouting concrete in Crisfield they might care. Remember when they sent Makea Turner out in the dark to look at a sidewalk.

  4. Brother it is sad any positive the police or retired police do no one wants to hear about it. All 1000 of you need to ride into Berlin and circle wagons around Trump. He is the only one not sucking MSNs private. He does not have to.

Thank you guys for riding on a great cause. 7:41 it is not about fame it draws awareness to the cause Libtard. The Special Olympics is a great cause 7:41. Humble yourself and attend it just once. I can assure you it will change your heart.

    1. If it's not about the fame, why make an issue about one specific media outlet? Obviously by now you've checked to see there was other media coverage.

The post at 7:41 did in fact support/commend the effort for the cause, but you chose to ignore that.

  5. Always begging for something.

    Have you no pride?

Do it because you want to do it. Leave the rest of us alone.
