Anti-Trump Groups Threaten ‘Largest Civil Disobedience Action of the Century’

With little fanfare and almost no news media attention, some of the same radical groups involved in shutting down Donald Trump’s Chicago rally last week are plotting a mass civil disobedience movement to begin next month.

They intend to march across the East Coast in order to spark a “fire that transforms the political climate in America.”

The operation, calling itself Democracy Spring, is threatening “drama in Washington” with the “largest civil disobedience action of the century.” The radicals believe this will result in the arrest of thousands of their own activists.

“We will demand that Congress listen to the People and take immediate action to save our democracy. And we won’t leave until they do — or until they send thousands of us to jail,” the website for Democracy Spring declares, channeling rhetoric from the Occupy movement.

The group is backed by numerous organizations, including the George Soros-funded groups MoveOn.org, the Institute for Policy Studies, and Demos.

The pro-Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) MoveOn.org has been playing a prominent role in organizing anti-Trump activism, including last weekend’s shutdown of the billionaire’s rally at the University of Illinois at Chicago Pavilion.

The AFL-CIO, the nation’s largest labor federation, announced in a press release earlier this month it is “all in behind Democracy Spring,” perhaps indicating significant mobilization.

What do the radicals claim to want?

  1. lmao this is a joke, you people will stand up to fight against trump but you can't stand up and fight for your rights or when a innocent man is put in jail or shot in the back, unarmed and not a threat to anyone...

  3. No they won't stand in line for a job, but they will go out in the street and act like a bunch of freaking idiots. I say get all the fireman out there with all their firehoses and spray away, and keep spraying until they are all washed away.

  5. How come placing the nominee with the most states/delegates won on the general election ballot isn't "listening to the people?" Why is "Stop Trump" the movement of the people? Primaries are opportunities for people to start a movement, and Trump is winning state after state. Trump is the movement; if you want to stop him, stop him at the ballot box. LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE! The people who vote, that is. Or are Democrat's trying to decide the Republican nominee?? Not how this works--but it probably will this time.

  7. Democrats do not give a S%^t about anyone's right to vote but their own. Until we start fighting back as dirty as the democrats fight we will always struggle to beat them. Conservatives should win against the democrats every single time. They are small issued and small minded.

  8. After reading the article, I don't see anything wrong with the ideals behind this march. Don't we want big money out of politics? Don't we want Congress to listen to vote the way their constituents want and not thw lobbyists? I have doubts that it will remain peaceful, "outside agitators" will cause problems and then the boot will come down.
