Carson says an apologetic Cruz asked for a meeting at debate

Ben Carson said late Saturday that Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas approached him during an off-camera break at ABC’s Republican debate to apologize for his campaign’s conduct during the Iowa caucuses and requested a one-on-one meeting with him.

“He said he’s sorry that this happened and he wants to sit down and talk,” Carson said in an interview with The Washington Post. “He wants to discuss the whole thing and clear the air.”

The retired neurosurgeon said he mostly listened when his Republican rival approached him on stage but did agree to hear Cruz out in the coming days. They did not set a date.

  1. If Cruz is not careful then his personality and arrogance will be the cause of his defeat. Sadly he is very intellegent and a true conservative republican however his message gets lost with his actions. He constantly calls out Trump for his arrogance, but he is just as bad.

  2. The problem with Cruz is his apology is disingenuous as his team has once again been engaging in nefarious activities in NH. And while his tactics may be legal, no one ever said that legal and moral were synonymous. Quite the contrary in many cases.

At the debate, he did a b-line for Carson at its conclusion, whispering and apparently asking for a private meeting with him. The fact is, he land blasted Trump for calling him out in defense of Carson, whom I think we can all agree is a quieter person. Cruz comes across as being truculent and a cheater.

Voter shaming, passing out pictures at Trump's rallies of him with the Clintons and blaming CNN for his team's foils and toils just doesn't demonstrate a sense of fair play or statesmanship, to voters, it makes him look like a schmuck.
