Exclusive: Birth Certificate for Ted Cruz’s Mother

Eleanor Darragh, mother of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) , was born in Delaware on Nov. 23, 1934, establishing her citizenship by birth–and, according to U.S. law, that of her son, even though he was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Dec. 22, 1970.

The Cruz for President campaign provided Breitbart News exclusively with the birth certificate.

Later, Ted Cruz’s own birth certificate listed his mother as “Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson.” “Elizabeth” was her mother’s first name, and “Wilson” is a surname from a previous marriage.

  1. If this is a topic that needs to be addressed then I'm not voting for him. To be honest I'm voting for trump and if he doesn't get in then I'm voting the opposite of democrats.

  2. I thought because he was NOT born in the USA you cannot be President even though he derived citizenship through his mother.

  3. Wasn't Obama's mother a citizen of the US too?

  4. This is almost hysterical after what we have in the White House at this very moment.

  5. I really don't understand why anyone is challenging Cruz. I have friends who's parents were in the military, some born in China, some born in Japan. I would never not consider them Americans. The challenge on Cruz is ridiculous.

  6. They are Americans.
    Cruz is a citizen.
However, Cruz is not eligible to be POTUS.

  7. Joe, One of the differences between the military born children and children born of others is that a military base is considered akin to US territory. As such they are considered natural born citizens. Although courts have never ruled on this courts have ruled that children of embassy personnel born overseas are natural born citizens(an embassy being US territory). In Cruz's case this doesn't apply and would be more like an immigrant coming here and having a child and that child being a natural born American citizen. In his case Cruz would be a natural born Canadian citizen. Even though at 18 he choose to be an American citizen one cannot be naturally born from 2 different countries.

  8. Did he not claim dual citizen for along time including during his election as a senator?
