Miller Promises Help For Baltimore City, Scrutiny Of Hogan Tax Cuts

Senate President Mike Miller promises lawmakers will work to approve a number of bills to help Baltimore City in the upcoming legislative session.

In an interview recorded for Sunday's Maryland's News This Week, Miller said there would be bills to address vacant housing, economic development, education funding and police accountability.

Miller and House Speaker Michael Busch had formed a task force to address police accountability in the wake of the death of Freddie Gray.

Miller said he would back legislation to make some changes to the Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights. Those changes include reducing the amount of time officers accused of wrongdoing can wait before they cooperate with investigators.

  1. I can't believe officers are "allowed" to wait any specific amount of time before co-operating, as long as they have their representative or advocate there with them.

  5. sorry but I am sick of bmore getting most of the shores highway money etc. When are we finally going to admit Baltimore is a complete failure and no amount of money will change the tide there. They need tough love and to show some pride in their city . Throwing money at the problem is the easy feel good answer and will do nothing to help. I wish this Miller knucklehead would retire as he has cost all Marylander's a lot of money during his tyranny.

  6. If "help" meant mandatory job, parenting, behavior, cultural diversity, decision making, lifestyle choice and manners training for every single one caught on video during the riots, plus all those on welfare, and every single one with multiple criminal offenses, I wouldn't be against it...as long as successful mastery of the training was demonstrated by each individual, with benefits permanently cut off for any one of them who refused to comply with it.

Oh yes, and a free set of rims, or a tattoo, for every single one who agrees to be volntarily sterilized.
