Deputy chief Hank Stawinski tells The Washington Post that officersare searching for the rifle. He calls it “an important piece of equipment” and says getting it back is a top priority.
Police say the officer leaned the rifle against the back of his car while he was changing the tires on Thursday afternoon in the Oxon Hill area. Police say the rifle fell over and the officer drove away without realizing he’d forgotten it. He returned to the scene several hours later, but it was gone.
Police say the officer may be subject to discipline for failing to secure the rifle.

ReplyDeleteFired and if used in a crime arrested for contributing to the crime. If I lost a gun and the finder killed someone I'd somehow be held liable for the death. Make this worthless pig pay dearly. This is why police need only a hand gun on their sides.... Attached. The need for assault rifles is for specialized forces only.

It DOES sound unbelievable, but i would bet it is true.
ReplyDeleteHe was changing two flat tires...on his own cop car...with one spare? Ok, maybe he ran over something in the road, to flatten both tires at the same time. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteBut he's going to put himself in an extremely vulnerable position, exposed alongside the road, changing tires? What cop does that? A radio call for a tow or road service, sure.
I think there's more to the story.
