Applebee’s Forgot To Pay Prep Cook With Autism For A Whole Year

How can someone work part-time for a national chain restaurant for the better part of a year and not receive any pay? What happened to a young adult in Rhode Island was a unique situation where the employee worked in an unpaid training program through a state-funded nonprofit, then was supposed to be moved onto the payroll. Only he never was.

  1. Applebees sucks and why would ANYONE work there let alone eat. Another franchise that used to be awesome to go to but not anymore. They were trying to save a buck which is why they suck. Dirty place, dirty tables, dirty restrooms, inept employees.

  3. The company and the manager are 100% lying.
No one reported his hours? No time clock records? No manager ever wondered why he never got paid?
"Forgot", I suppose, is better than "we saved THOUSANDS taking advantage of the autistic kid!! AND he worked HARD!!"
It also tends to keep their prison time to a minimum.
And all this time I thought "plausible denial" was the realm of just politicians. Lying, cheating, and stealing is spreading like wildfire.
    Keep cheering.
