SWAT Team Raids Home, Kills Man Over $2 Worth of Pot

A Florida family seeks justice after their son Jason Westcott, was killed by members of a SWAT team, during a “drug raid” on his house which yielded only $2.00 worth of marijuana.

An ‘internal investigation’ absolved officers of any wrongdoing though police only found .02 grams of marijuana in Westcott’s home.

“They have IA, they have internal investigations but when you police yourself, you have that veil of concern by the outsider,” said attorney T.J. Grimaldi.

On Tuesday, attorney T.J. Grimaldi, representing the family of Westcott, informed the city that family would be filing a lawsuit, after finding numerous “glaring inconsistencies” in police statements in the aftermath of the killing.

  1. The author pretty much sums it up well with his last paragraph:

"The fact that a young man with his whole life to live was killed by police, over a $2 dollars (sic) worth of a plant, is a direct statement on the absurdity of the “War on Drugs.” The practice of trusting the word of individuals who have a vested interest in alleviating their own criminal charges is a practice that is contrary to the highest ideals of justice."

  2. If we make marijuana illegal then nobody will get stoned...Just like if we make guns illegal then nobody will get shot.

  4. Hey, Sheriff Lewis! Care to comment on this "War on Police" thing? This story and your death threats make me highly uncomfortable when the police get near me.

    2. The police acted in good faith with a warrant signed by a judge. By all accounts the officers entered the house to serve the warrant and the idiot pointed a gun at them. He's dead. No big deal. Case closed.

  5. Were the DOJ, the FL AG & all of the other state's offices of AG not in league with this sort of thing they'd be the element who would be doing the prosecuting also.
It seems to me that cops are relying, quite a lot lately and far far too much, on 'informants' for their raids and attacks on citizens. After all what was it that chief cop said not long ago, "If you've got a SWAT team, you want to use it." Yeah, use it illegally against innocent Americans, you POS.
Since this 'informant' lied, who'd s/he lie to? Who took the info? Who verified and investigated the info received? Did this guy that they murdered have any record indicating drug trafficking?
No, these POS cops, all hopped up on their Red Bull & Monster & NOS & adrenaline, want to shoot someone. And, that needs to be addressed. When juries finally start handing out 9figure settlements and jurisdictions are forced to near bankruptcy, then and only then are we American people going to be free of this degenerate corruption within our LE departments.

  6. Informant information used to be a starting point. It began investigations and attempts at controlled buys. Now its used as gospel and fact. Creating instant police response. It amazes me. We all know dopers and crack heads will do it say anything. Professional liars and hustlers and the police instantly believe them. Very nazi to me. Again I scream for old fashion police work. The days of the old. When cops were real. Not this Nazi Gestapo comply or die... Just kick in house doors with " ignorance of the law" backing them and any check points period. All these we were guaranteed protection from when this country started. Now look at us.

  7. Please Jesus, don't let 7:21 be a cop, try to be a cop, or possess anything more dangerous than a water pistol.
A "thug" is now anyone with less than a joint in their house? And worthy of being murdered by armed agents of the government over it?
    That's your position?
You must be one of the ones who say "good shoot!" when the Gestapo turns a 13 year old kid into hamburger because they are too stupid to tell the difference between an AR-15 and a toy gun..
People are getting angrier by the day; every over-the-top, escalated, military style, aggressive, murderous, and overreaching kill mission the police do (they say it themselves --- "Comply....or die") makes more and more people realize that something is wrong with this country.
Small crimes, mouthing off to a cop, driving late at night, failing to INSTANTLY obey --- all can end in your death. And 99% will be "justified". Think about that for a minute.
Just like Thomas Jefferson envisioned. You DO know the name, right?
    Keep cheering, you dummies.

  8. Aaaahhhhhh....the "good shoot" philosophy.
Some judges would sign a warrant looking for the tooth fairy. A whole lot of judges would.

    "He's dead. No big deal."
Exactly the kind of mind set that is alarming Americans.
"Comply or die" is NOT an operational edict, especially for those who, in the same breath, say their job is to "protect and serve".
    Which is it?
