Maryland State Police Arrest Prince George’s County Man on Child Pornography

 


(Columbia, MD) Members of the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Section, Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) arrested a Prince Georges County man on child pornography related charges today.

The suspect is identified as Arthur Clements, 57, from Temple Hills, Maryland. He was arrested without incident. Clements was charged with three counts of Distributing Child Pornography and two counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

As a result of this investigation, a search and seizure warrant was executed at Clements’ residence earlier this morning by a Maryland State Police Computer Crimes investigator and agents from the Department of Homeland Security. Investigators identified Clements as the focus of the investigation. During the execution of the search warrant, numerous videos of child pornography were located on his computer. Working with the Prince Georges County States Attorney’s Office, investigators arrested Clements on scene. He was transported to the Prince Georges County Detention Center and is awaiting an initial hearing with a District Court Commissioner.


The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is comprised of police agencies from around the State. Its primary mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation. The Task Force works cooperatively with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to provide resources to combat these crimes. Additionally, the Task Force provides community awareness campaigns helping to prevent the spread of these crimes through education.
