  1. I told my family to monitor the situation in Baltimore because it could easily escalate to here and it looks like it may have.

  17. The ignorance of some people posting is very sad. Students at UMES arent just from the Eastern Shore. They come from all 50 States and various countries. Majority of the student body from MD comes from Baltimore, PG County, and DC. Students may had family and friends in Baltimore and couldnt make it and wanted to show support. Im proud of UMES and keep up the good work!!!

    Sincerely,

    A PROUD UMES HAWK ALUMNUS

The 10% that does graduate from UMES are mostly white students graduating from the Physician Assistant and the Physical Therapy departments.

Some idiot got the bright idea that there weren't enough blacks in those professions so they decided to put the programs in an all black school knowing that would pump out thousands of black PA-C's and PT's. Wrong answer Dumb Dumb. I say move the programs to Salisbury University and close UMES down.

    1. No way!! Then they'll be funneled into SU as fast as the admissions office can say "racial preferencing". SU is still relatively safe, let's keep it that way. Be careful for what you wish for.

  23. Time for the police to enforce the law. No permit to demonstrate-into the paddy wagons you go. Or at least put them in orange jumpsuits and have them cut the grass in the median strip.

THIS one. Which world are you living in?

  25. 90% does not graduate??? Show me where. Each year there is around 1000 students that graduate with their degrees in fall and spring commencements.

I am a PROUD Alumnus of UMES and my degree has opened up doors in my career. Oh and my Masters is from another HBCU.

I bet most of you with your fancy "ivy league" degrees or Wor-Wic Degrees shouldn't throw stones at glass houses.

  26. I get the peaceful protesting but when it hinders traffic and people trying to get to their destinations...it doesnt make sense....move to the median!
