FOUR INJURED IN HARFORD CO. CRASH INVOLVING A STATE TROOPER

(BEL AIR, MD) -- Four people are being treated at area hospitals after a Maryland State Police patrol car and another vehicle collided in a Harford County intersection this afternoon as the trooper was responding to a call.

Preliminary information available at this time indicates that shortly after 4:00 p.m. today, a state trooper assigned to the JFK Highway Barrack was responding to a call for service with lights and siren activated. The trooper's patrol car and a civilian vehicle with three occupants collided in the intersection of Rt. 543 and Rt. 7.

The trooper and one of the occupants of the other vehicle were flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The other two occupants of the other vehicle were transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital for treatment.

Maryland State Police Crash Team investigators are on the scene conducting the investigation. Traffic will be delayed in the area as the investigation continues.

Additional information will be provided later this evening when it is available.
