Dozens of people reached out to 10 On Your Side after a student’s mother posted a picture of the meal on social media. It shows cooked corn on a lunch platter, alongside a fish filet with a bun placed on top.
According to the school district’s lunch menu, which is posted online, the lunch choices served Tuesday were the following:
- Spicy Cajun Fish w/Brown Rice
- Cold Cut Turkey Sub (w/g)
- Assorted Chef Salad (Croutons & Crackers)
- Steamed Carrots & Side Salad
- Fresh Orange or Canned Fruit
- 1% & Skim Milk

ReplyDeleteIf the choice was Cajun fish w/ brown rice, why is there corn on the plate? Not that it still doesn't look like yesterday's leftovers left under the heat lamp too long.
ReplyDeleteRice and corn are both starch, I thought our taxes paid for nutritionists in the school system? Just open the can and throw it on the plate. Children in third world countries eat better with our donations. Crap on a cracker.

ReplyDeleteTomorrow's lunch for my kids, packed by me, the dad, but made the night before by dad and kids:
ReplyDelete-4 ounce chicken salad cup, with raisins, craisins and apple bits
-1 small soft taco wrap with lettuce leaves, shredded carrots, avocado slices and cranberry sauce (they thought that one up)
-fruit cup
-a piece of birthday cake (not usually a feature)
-1/2 pint milk from the cafeteria
That looks like one of those snakehead fishes that were becoming an invasive pest in local waters. A great way to get rid of them, then!
