  5. Evidently victim was held under water-drowned to death. Drugs were found at the scene according to reports.

  6. Some Yokels are so concerned about a fire boat it leaves them with no concern for the victim. .

  11. So victim was drowned to death. All the money spent time wasted worrying about guns and this happens.
It's not about guns or any other method used to murder someone, it's about the breakdown of the family, young people with no positive role models in their lives. Nothing will ever change until people realize what the root of this problem is and focus on that.

  13. Salisbury is certainly living up to the very ghetto sounding name of "the 'bury."

  14. I have no idea who dreamed up "the 'bury" but it does sound so crude and primitive.

  15. Water and swimming needs to be banned. Remember, its for the children, and if it saves just one life its worth it.

It's more than just "a murder." It's a culmination of negative factors including but not limited to any one in particular. Those factors include a higher than average crime rate.
A higher than average foreclosure rate.
Lower than average incomes because most of the city's "major employers" pay most of their employees poverty level wages.
This has left the city with an extremely low home ownership rate and a higher than average poverty rate.

  20. 8:14 PM that would be Jim Ireton's idea calling it da 'Bury. Ironically Jim Ireton is very racist and it is a ghetto name. Yes Jimbo is racist and I have hung around him long enough and heard his comments and had discussions with him about black people. If you don't believe me look what he did to the Assistant City Administrator Lore Chambers. Ms. Chambers was even the acting City Administrator for nearly 2 years when John Pick was out sick.

And by the way Lore Chambers is a female. He doesn't care for females. Remember the incident in Mojo's.

He then hired a gay black man from out of town to replace her. Then he hired one of his buddies as the new City PIO. Another gay guy.

    Everyone should be saying WTF!!

  21. Oh Bullshit 9:28 AM you are just a friend of Jim Ireton's and you are coming to his defense. Heck it might even be JIMBO!!

  22. Hey Jake Day I thought you said crime was down.

Jim Ireton you keep saying crime is down because of you and Jake Day. Lying POS!!

  23. You know what is ironic? Jake Day had an article posted on his Facebook page about 2 weeks ago praising Salisbury about crime being down. Must have been written by one of their buddies.

Anyway I went back to find the article and he deleted it. LMFAO! You know crime isn't down and you are the laughing stock of Salisbury. You and Jimmy have nothing on Barrie Tilghman. This city just keeps getting worse.

  24. Crime is down? Only because cops let people walk. Case in point...this morning at 4:45 I was awoken by someone rummaging around in the building that is currently under construction behind my house. I went out to investigate and found two guys taking materials. I called the police and they werent quick enough to catch the driver there, but his buddy came waltzing out of the building (in complete darkness) saying he was "looking for a job." Mind you there wasnt a single person working and there is no lighting there, its pitch black dark. Cops interviewed the guy and let him walk away.

Crime is down when they dont arrest anyone....just sayin.

  25. This cannot possibly be happening right behind 600 thousand dollar condos. I always thought that it would be nice to live there but I also knew that at some time I would have to leave the horribly priced condo and come back to the reality that it is built in a very crime infested area. I would not live there unless the place was gated for security. Might as well live in the artist community on the other side of the river.

  26. Copied from the grandmother of the victim's Facebook.

FB FAMILY, MY GRANDSON WALKED OUT THE DOOR AT 8:30, THE POLICE CAME KNOCKING AT MY DAUGHTER'S DOOR AT 9:30. HE WAS DEAD; DROWNED WE DON'T KNOW HOW BUT HE DIDN'T GET IN THAT RIVER ON HIS OWN ACCORD. LAMAR DIDN'T SWIM AND HE WAS ASTHMATIC AND IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE. I AM TRYING TO MAKE SENSE OF THIS AND TRYING TO GET MY MIND RAPPED AROUND ALL THIS MESS. I KNOW GOD KNOWS ALL ABOUT IT AND WHOEVER DID THIS WILL BE REVEALED. THE POLICE IS INVESTIGATING. ONE THING I DO KNOW IS GOD DON'T MAKE ANY MISTAKES AND EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. I ASKED GOD TO HELP ME TO SEE SOMETHING GOOD OUT OF THIS AND I DO KNOW HE GAVE HIS LIFE TO CHRIST LAST NOVEMBER AND ATTENDING CHURCH WITH MY DAUGHTER AND VERY ENTHUSED TO KNOW GOD. HE STAYED IN MY DAUGHTER'S ROOM READING THE BIBLE WITH HER AND WATCHING CHRISTIAN PROGRAMS; I WAS REALLY SURPRISED OF HIS TURNAROUND. HE WAS 24 AND VERY LOVED BY ME AND OUR WHOLE FAMILY. ALL I CAN SAY IS GOD BE WITH US NOW.

  27. The grandmother's name is Geraline Wright-Foster. I was looking at her FB after she posted a comment on another site regarding the death of her grandson.
She is a lovely lady and my heart hurts for her.
The young people who are living high risk lifestyles wouldn't want to intentionally hurt their family but they need to realize that by living risky they are hurting their loved ones.

  28. 9:28 - Your comment is disgustingly rude. Placing the blame on one politician for the downfall of an already reckless and troubled society is not only unreasonable, but unintelligent and irresponsible. As far as the mayor's sexual orientation, who cares? You clearly have something up your a**, but none of us are complaining. I am glad that a bigot like you will be leaving this community... that is progress.

  29. Holding someone under water until they die is a hell of a way for anyone to die even if it's all over drugs. If it does turn out to be related to a drug deal then the mayor and council should really start organizing some take back your streets events. You got to get the people fired up for any meaningful change to occur. You can't stop either. You have to keep them fired up.

  30. What is the most troubling, in my opinion, is watching a community dismantle itself. I am not talking about a murder, nor am I talking about having a gay mayor. What I am talking about is that in the light of a horrible tragedy, all commenters want to do is place blame. Rather than rallying together as a community during this time, making a stand, and saying that citizens of this city will NOT put up with this, we are focused on the mayor's boyfriend and his hiring of a gay black man? Give me a break.

  31. 1215-Those 600K condos don't sell for 115K these days. Moronic to build them in the first place. What a view, a polluted river, a chicken processing plant, and the hood. LOL

  33. Looks like the victim Lamar Sheppard was awaiting trial on an armed robbery and other charges that happened on 9/13/2014. I wonder what armed robbery that was. Terrible when there are so many armed robberies that you have forgotten what was robbed.
