Press Release for FoodPlay Productions at PES‏

Hello all!

I am a teacher at Pocomoke Elementary School and recently received a grant for FoodPlay Productions, in conjunction with the Maryland Soybean Board, to present an entertaining and educational program at Pocomoke Elementary School! The program introduces students to healthy eating choices (nutrition education) in a fun way, in hopes to lower childhood obesity rates. They have asked me to send local media representatives a press release (see attachment) so that families and communities, in addition to students, can be exposed to nutrition education in hopes to trigger a community-wide interest in building healthy environments. The show will be Friday, April 24th from 9:00 - 9:50 a.m. in the cafeteria at Pocomoke Elementary. Feel free to join us and share this information with the community via media outlets!

Thank you for your time,
Jenny Howard

  1. Soybeans are a vital component of healthy eating. You start by eating the chickens that produced the "fertilizer" for the beans to grow, then in early fall you shoot and eat the dove that feed on the soybeans. After Thanksgiving, you shoot and eat the deer that feed in the soybean fields after harvest. In years past you could also shoot and eat the geese, but today the rules/bag limits are so tight it is hardly worth the effort in MD anyway.
