ANNAPOLIS, Md. —Hundreds of law enforcement officers and residents from all over Maryland converged on Annapolis Thursday, taking opposite sides over several pieces of legislation designed to hold police more accountable.
About 500 people signed up to testify on 17 bills before the House Judiciary Committee.
Going from chants to change, people from all walks of life and from all over the state want to effect a sea change in police policies.
"We are diverse and most importantly we are united. Our unity is our greatest power," said Farajii Muhammad, with the Young Leaders for Peace Coalition.
