Dem Congresswoman Hires Convicted Felon

In January, a Democratic congresswoman from Texas hired a convicted felon who spent a year in prison for her role in a public corruption scandal.

The congresswoman’s office does not want to talk about it.

Congressional information service Legistorm reported that Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson has hired former Democratic Texas state representative Terri Hodge for a position in her Dallas office.

Terri Hodge served for more than a decade in the Texas House before her 2010 conviction for lying on her tax returns in connection with a public corruption investigation. Hodge received a one-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to one count of fraud and now serves as Johnson’s district outreach consultant.

Johnson’s communications director, Yinka Robinson, declined to comment on the hire citing a policy of not publicly discussing personnel matters.

  1. Dombocrats just can't stay away from criminal activities!

Aaaaand they don't have the common sense to know there will be a backlash reaction when it becomes known!

Can't fix stupid - but we keep reelecting it!

  2. She's been a problem for a loong time to that area of the country. She keeps getting reelected because her district cover a specific set of demographics! I lived there before I was lured here on the promise of a long-term job (the industry took a nose-dive and they laid off a bunch while hoarding the cash).

I mean they go to prison and do there time and that's still not enough for you. What would you rather this Felon do? Is McDonald's okay? Such hypocrites

  5. While everyday citizens with criminal backgrounds are ridiculed Discriminated and treated as second class citizens.. regardless of charge or circumstances..the rich and famous are viewed as Superheroes.. Award winners.. entertainment geniuses.. and CEO.. only simple minded people find fault in some one choosing a better path for themselves..
