School apologizes after teacher tells parents to pack kid proper lunch

One Missouri dad was shocked to receive a letter from his daughter's substitute teacher telling him he had packed her a lunch that was too unhealthy.

The girl's father Justin Puckett, who is a family doctor, posted the letter, written on orange paper to his Facebook, outraged at the 'Big Brother' approach from the Kirksville Primary School teacher.

Annoyed at the implication he and his wife Kylene were not up to the task of caring for their own daughter, Dr. Puckett refused to sign the letter acknowledging he accepted the lunch was not up to scratch.

  3. The lunch described was very unhealthy. The sub does have a point. Some parents take no responsibility for the health of their children, if he is a doctor he should know better.

  4. Whoa!!! Teachers are now nutritionists, too?
And now have decided that they have the RIGHT to inspect the lunch we pack for our kids and decide if they like it or not?
Conditioning our kids to believe that someone OTHER THAN THEIR PARENTS, control their lives and actually have MORE authority than Mom and Dad.
What our kids eat is NONE of their business.
Good thing the guy was a doctor, all calm and reasonable, and not some ex-felon with a bad temper who already has a bad attitude about "authority".
You know what I'm saying, right???

  6. My child took a yohoo in her lunch last year and the school took it away and gave her water. People try to dictate everything. My child is a vegetarian by choice so we try to pack healthy options for her. However I didn't see where the yohoo in a can was an issue. I could understand if it were in a glass bottle.

Should have went to school and took something from them.
Who in the hell do these Nazi's think they are? Confiscating food THEY don't approve of?
When did we start thinking that was normal? And okay?
